First and second blocking members are positioned on the first current collector at a distance from each other with the fuse interposed inbetween and each blocking member includes a nonconductor.

A space defined between the cover and the first deformable plate has a negative pressure.

The terminal includes a plurality of sealing protrusions. The gasket is located between the terminal and cap plate and contacts the plurality of sealing protrusions. Together, the sealing protrusions and gasket establish a barrier which prevents electrolyte solution in the case from reaching and eroding the terminal.
