Abstract: A portable computer includes a display unit to display a predetermined screen, a pointing module including at least one pointing button to point or select a predetermined point on the predetermined screen, a keyboard unit including at least one key button disposed adjacent to the at least one pointing button, and a detecting sensor module to detect at least one of approach and contact to the at least one key button, and a system controller to determine whether to perform an operation corresponding to manipulation of the at least one pointing button based on a detecting result of the detecting sensor module when the manipulation of the at least one pointing button is detected.

Abstract: The present general inventive concept relates to a computer having a network part to transmit and receive data through a network; a data storage to store downloaded data received through the network part, a mode selector to select one of a first download mode and a second download mode, a first download manager to control the data storage to store the downloaded data received through the network part when the first download mode is selected by the mode selector, and a second download manager to control the data storage to store the downloaded data received through the network part when the second download mode is selected by the mode selector. Thus, a computer capable of switching to a power save mode while the computer downloads data through a network is provided, so that a power consumption is reduced.

Abstract: A computer system having a central processing unit, a memory, a system bus and an input/output controller, comprises: a power supply for supplying power to a computer system; a control block for generating a locking control signal according to a state of a power control signal inputted for controlling an operation state of the power supply; and a removable locking mechanism for performing a locking operation to make a peripheral device not be separated from the computer system, according to the locking control signal. A peripheral device can not be separated from the computer system, thereby preventing the computer system and the peripheral device from being damaged since a removable locking device of peripheral device is locked when power is applied to the computer system.

Abstract: A reprogramming device of a flash memory includes: a flash memory which stores BIOS data for a computer system; a central process unit which outputs an address signal after reading the BIOS data from the flash memory; random access memory which stores new BIOS data; and a controller driven by the address signal of the central process unit, which writes the new BIOS data of the random access memory on the flash memory. The device also includes a switch which controls an operation of the flash memory; and a reprogrammer which makes it possible to reprogram the flash memory. The reprogramming can occur even when the flash memory is mounted in a main board and when the flash memory can not boot the computer system because of damaged BIOS data.
