Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for measuring transmission quality of multimedia data are provided. The method comprises the steps of a transmitter transmitting multimedia data through a channel, a receiver, having received the multimedia data from the transmitter, transmitting information on transmission error of the multimedia data to the transmitter through a return channel, the transmitter estimating the received data at the receiver using the error information returned to the transmitter, and the transmitter evaluating the transmission quality of the received data by comparing the estimated received data with reference data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for transmitting a multimedia message, which reconstructs a multimedia message to be appropriate for the receiving mobile station and transmits the reconstructed message, when the multimedia message is requested to be transmitted from a transmitting station of a higher version to the receiving station of a lower version and the multimedia message may not be transcoded into a form which can be processed by the receiving mobile station. The present invention enables to transmit various types of multimedia message without being limited by the specification of the receiving mobile station.

In the multimedia messaging method using a mobile communication network of the present invention, a multimedia message transmitted from an originating mobile station is stored. A receiving mobile station is informed of the arrival of the multimedia message. The stored multimedia message is transmitted to the receiving mobile station if a download request is received from the receiving mobile station. In this case, the stored multimedia message includes a unique message identifier distinguished from file information of other multimedia messages stored to be retransmissible.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of transmitting a multimedia message in a mobile communication system, which allows a receiving terminal to access an MMS server suitable for its specification and receive a stored multimedia message, even when a single MMS server is not equipped with all types of media conversion functions corresponding to all specifications of the receiving terminals. According to the invention, the MMS server stores a multimedia message transmitted from a transmitting terminal in a common message storage unit, and ascertains the specification of a receiving terminal while informing the receiving terminal of the arrival of the message. The MMS server includes in a notice message the address of an MMS server that services media data reproducible by the receiving terminal and informs the receiving terminal of the arrival of the multimedia message.

Abstract: Disclosed is related to an interactive multimedia service system and method thereof using mobile station that is enable to see a broadcasting with real time/non-real time. A broadcasting station broadcasts a multimedia contents composed of the broadcasting contents being broadcasted and the other multimedia contents generated by the mobile station, and transmits the composed multimedia contents to the mobile station. Therefore, the user of the mobile station can see the broadcasting, which the user of mobile station participates in the interactive broadcasting with real time/non-real time.

The tranmitter generates feature parameters from a reference video to be transmitted and transmits the generated feature parameters along with compressed video data via a network. The video receiver receives the feature parameters and the compressed video data via the network, evaluates the video quality of the received video using the feature parameters and transmits video quality evaluation results to the video transmitter via the network.
