  • Publication number: 20130154910
Abstract: A display panel has a pixel array arranged with a plurality of columns and a plurality of rows. The display panel includes a first pixel group and a second pixel group arranged in the first row and adjacent to each other. The first pixel group and the second pixel group respectively include a first color sub-pixel, a second color sub-pixel, a third color sub-pixel, and a transparent sub-pixel. The arrangement of the first color sub-pixel, the second color sub-pixel, the third color sub-pixel, and the transparent sub-pixel of the first pixel group and the arrangement of the first color sub-pixel, the second color sub-pixel, the third color sub-pixel, and the transparent sub-pixel of the second pixel group are symmetric in mirror.

  • Publication number: 20130106891
Abstract: A method of rendering a color image on a delta-structured color display. The display has a plurality of first sub-pixel groups and a plurality of second sub-pixel groups interlacing with each other. Each first sub-pixel group includes a first sub-pixel of a first color. Each second sub-pixel group includes a second sub-pixel of a second color and a third sub-pixel of a third color. In one embodiment, the method includes inputting the color image, analyzing the color image to estimate one or more patterns of the image, determining one or more color template indexes, each color template indexes corresponding to a respective one of the one or more patterns, generating an intensity map, including an intensity for each first sub-pixel, second sub-pixel, and third sub-pixel of the display, according to the color template indexes, and outputting a plurality of electrical signals according to the intensity map to the display.

  • Publication number: 20130021328
Abstract: A layout method of sub-pixel renderings includes the following steps: providing an RGB pixel rendering, wherein each pixel of the RGB pixel rendering includes a plurality of sub-pixels, and the plurality of sub-pixels have different colors from each other; and when displaying a stereo image, dividing the RGB pixel rendering into a first sub-pixel rendering corresponding to a left-eye image and a second sub-pixel rendering corresponding to a right-eye image; wherein at least one of each row and each column of the first sub-pixel rendering includes R, G, and B sub-pixels, and at least one of each row and each column of the second sub-pixel rendering includes R, G, and B sub-pixels.

  • Publication number: 20120105749
Abstract: In a 3D display system, an AMOLED display panel is used for alternatively presenting left-eye images and right-eye images associated with specific images, and an LCD polarizing panel is used for providing the left-eye images and the right-eye images with different polarization angles. When the LCD polarizing panel is in the process of rotating its LCD molecules, corresponding OLED rows of the AMOLED display panel are sequentially turned off so as to display black images, thereby preventing crosstalk and improving display quality.

  • Publication number: 20120105497
Abstract: An auto-stereoscopic 3D display and a display method thereof are provided. The auto-stereoscopic 3D display includes a display module and a scanning barrier. The display module displays a 2D image. The scanning barrier is attached on the display module. The scanning barrier coordinates with the 2D image displayed by the display module to provide a switching of a plurality of alternate vertical slits and vertical barriers, so that a parallax is produced between a left eye and a right eye and accordingly a 3D image is sensed, wherein a constant opaque area exists between each of a pair of the slit and the barrier.

  • Publication number: 20120105953
Abstract: A multi-view stereoscopic display includes a display panel and a parallax barrier panel. The display panel includes a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines, and a plurality of pixels. The parallax barrier panel includes a plurality of barriers and a plurality of control lines. The parallax barrier panel can block the display panel for displaying a plurality of images of different view angles. Each barrier corresponds to a predetermined number of pixels of the same data line. The barriers corresponding to the same scan line are divided into a plurality of groups of barriers. The plurality of control line corresponds to the plurality of scan lines. Each control line drives a group of barriers corresponding to the same scan line.
