Patent number: 9066449Abstract: An enclosure has a perforated front door with a replaceable filter, and a perforated rear side allowing air to flow through the enclosure. The enclosure also has mounting brackets for heat generating elements, such as line cards or other rack mounted electronics. A fan draws air through the perforated front door, though the filter, and across the heat generating elements. Side brushes are disposed on a side wall near the front of the enclosure, which allow any cables attached to the heat generating elements to exit the enclosure. The front door is removable, opening up one side of the side brushes and allowing the cables to slide in the side brushes while still connected to the heat generating elements.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2013Date of Patent: June 23, 2015Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Frank S. Patent number: 8897818Abstract: A method for reducing energy consumption of mobile devices using a phase-continuous early paging indicator (EPI) is provided. For each of at least one paging occasion either A) an EPI indicative that a page is present in the paging occasion is transmitted during an EPI occasion in advance of the paging occasion, the EPI comprising at least one phase-continuous tone for the EPI occasion, and a page is transmitted during the paging occasion, or B) an EPI indicative that a page is not present in the paging occasion is transmitted during an EPI occasion in advance of the paging occasion, the EPI comprising at least one phase-continuous tone for the EPI occasion. A mobile device is configured to monitor for an EPI that comprises at least one phase-continuous tone for an EPI occasion in advance of its paging occasion in order to determine if a page is potentially present.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2010Date of Patent: November 25, 2014Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Jianfeng Weng, Mark Earnshaw, Xin Jin, Phat Hong Tran

Patent number: 8843792Abstract: A control channel may be used to transmit control information, such as Downlink Control Information (DCI), to a mobile device from a network component, such as a base station or a base node. The mobile device may use a blind decoding scheme to detect DCIs. A DCI may be falsely detected by the mobile device. According to some embodiments, data that has been decoded by a blind decoder, from buffer data for a candidate control channel, is re-encoded. The re-encoded data is compared to buffer data for the control channel. The decoded data is treated as control information dependent on the comparison of the re-encoded data with the buffer data. In some embodiments, comparing the re-encoded data to the buffer data includes generating a metric as a function of a degree of similarity between the re-encoded data and the buffer data. The metric may be compared to a threshold.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2012Date of Patent: September 23, 2014Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Xing Qian, Yangwen Liang, Jonathan Otto Swoboda, Phat Hong Tran

Patent number: 8611103Abstract: A latching apparatus provides selective injection and ejection of an electronic module relative to a chassis that includes a support member. The apparatus includes a housing to be coupled to the electronic module, and a handle pivotably coupled to the housing and movable between a latched position and an unlatched position. A catch in a first position retains the handle in the latched position. An actuator is coupled to the handle and operable to move the catch to a second position. In response to movement of the actuator in a direction the same as the direction of the handle toward the unlatched position, the catch is moved to its second position. Patent number: 8270171Abstract: To increase air flow, an air intake/outtake (i.e., intake, outtake, or both) is positioned on a front surface of a housing, such as a rack-mounted computer network switch housing. The front surface includes jacks, controls, plugs, receptacles or other input/output for connection with the processor in the housing. The air intake/outtake is one or more openings on the front surface with the input/output components. In one embodiment, to avoid interference with the input/output components and increasing the height of the housing, the air intake/outtake is a slot extending most of or all of the distance between the sides of the housing and being above or below the input/output. An intermediate plate may be used to form and support the air intake/outtake.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2010Date of Patent: September 18, 2012Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Susheela Nanjunda Rao Narasimhan, Hong Tran Huynh, Toan Nguyen, Duong Cu Lu, Phillip S. Publication number: 20120173988Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for sharing content of a web page between first and second terminals. The first terminal receives the web page from a server and extracts region information corresponding to a region selected by a user from the web page. The first terminal maps URL information corresponding to the web page to the extracted region information and transmits the mapped information to the second terminal. The second terminal parses the mapped extracted region information and URL information, receives the corresponding web page from the web server based on the parsed URL information, recognizes a region corresponding to the extracted region information in the received web page, and activates the region.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2012Publication date: July 5, 2012Applicant: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Thu Hong TRAN, Won-Seok KWON, Jin PARK

Publication number: 20120163366Abstract: A wireless communications device having a fast-receive mode for measuring received signal strength indication (RSSI) enables the device to handle higher time division multiple access (TDMA) multislot classes without requiring that the device include either a second receiver or a receiver with a more advanced and expensive phase-locked loop (PLL) design. The time to complete an RSSI measurement is reduced by initiating the sampling of signal strength before the radio transceiver is fully stabilized in the downlink mode. By initiating sampling before PLL stabilization is complete, the overall time to complete an RSSI measurement is reduced sufficiently to enable scheduling of an RSSI measurement in each GSM frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2012Publication date: June 28, 2012Applicant: RESEARCH IN MOTION LIMITEDInventors: Phat Hong TRAN, Oleksiy KRAVETS
