    Abstract: The present invention provides a method of preparing a recycled cementitious material by a phosphogypsum-assisted carbon sequestration pretreatment process. The method includes: (1) placing 100 mass parts of phosphogypsum, 1 to 2 mass parts of grinding aid, 10 to 20 mass parts of sodium-containing alkali component, 150 to 300 mass parts of zirconia balls, and 150 to 300 mass parts of water into a wet grinding tank for wet grinding. After 10 min to 30 min of wet grinding, introducing CO2 at a flow rate of 1.5 to 2.2 mass parts/min to keep a temperature of a wet grinding slurry below 40° C. When the wet grinding slurry reaches pH=10, ending the wet grinding and sieving out a wet grinding slurry; (2) mixing the wet grinding slurry with 700 to 1000 mass parts of slag and 100 to 350 mass parts of water to obtain a recycled cementitious material.

    Abstract: A flip-chip LED and a method for forming the LED are disclosed. The method includes: providing a substrate and depositing on the substrate an epitaxial layer including, from the bottom upward, an n-type GaN layer, a multi-quantum well active layer, and a p-type GaN layer; etching the epitaxial layer to form an array of openings exposing the n-type GaN layer; forming a first metal layer on the p-type GaN layer; annealing the first metal layer to induce self-assembly thereof; etching the p-type GaN layer by using the first metal layer as a mask such that an array of holes formed therein; and depositing a second metal layer over the array of holes, the second metal layer and the first metal layer form a metal reflector layer. The design can result in an improvement in the light extraction efficiency of the LED.

    Abstract: Alignment of a multimode waveguide to a source of light or another waveguide is evaluated using a multi-wavelength light source and a modal decomposition processing of an intensity profile of a waveguide output beam, wherein inter-modal interference is averaged out over wavelength. Fitting a superposition of mode intensity profiles to a wavelength-averaged intensity profile of the output beam provides information about the modal composition of the output beam, which may be used to assess the alignment of the multimode waveguide with respect to the input light beam, and to provide a feedback for guiding a waveguide alignment process.
