Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a cooperative caching method and apparatus, relating to the field of network technologies, to improve the local hit ratio without increasing the local server costs. The technical solution provided in the present invention includes: obtaining, according to cache information, end-to-end delay between a local server and a neighbor server, and popularity in a cache list, a consolidated gain value of a cached video segment and a consolidated gain value of a candidate video segment in the local server; and replacing the cached video segment with the candidate video segment when the consolidated gain value of the cached video segment and the consolidated gain value of the candidate video segment in the local server meet a replacement condition.

Abstract: A current control circuit includes an input circuit for receiving an input signal, an output circuit for providing an output signal. The output circuit is coupled to the input circuit to receive a current therefrom. The current control circuit also includes a feedback circuit coupled to the input circuit and the output circuit to form a feedback loop. The current control circuit further includes a first slope compensation current coupled to the output circuit for controlling the output signal, the first slope compensation current being a periodic current. The current control circuit also includes a second slope compensation current coupled to the feedback circuit, wherein the second slope compensation current has the same phase and period as the first slope compensation current.

Abstract: A method of making battery plates for lead-acid batteries includes providing a strip of material comprising lead; and punching material out of the strip to form a grid comprising wires having a non-rectangular cross-sectional shape by utilizing a die set comprising a plurality of male die components and female die components, wherein each of the male die components comprises a first portion having a first cross-sectional shape and a second portion having a second-cross sectional shape. A single punch of the material creates a hole in the material and also forms the periphery of the hole.

Abstract: A control circuit for a switched mode power supply includes a transconductance amplifier circuit for receiving a voltage signal related to a current from an input of the power supply and producing a first signal, an analog signal processor coupled to the amplifier circuit for receiving the first signal and a second signal from the input of the power supply and a third signal from an output of the power supply. The analog signal processor is configured to produce a fourth signal as a function of the first, the second, and the third signals. An adder circuit is coupled to the fourth signal and a dimmer control signal, and the adder circuit is configured to output a fifth signal. A comparator circuit is coupled to the adder circuit for providing a control signal to a power transistor that controls current flow in the power supply based on comparison of the fifth signal and a reference signal.

The method includes: obtaining the number of copies of to-be-placed media content; inputting user set information, server set information, media traffic demand information, and network topology information that are collected into a joint optimization model that is based on server selection and traffic engineering to perform joint optimization, and obtaining output information; performing statistics collection on the output information to obtain user access statistics of the to-be-placed media content on each cache device; and placing, according to the user access statistics of the media content and the number of copies, the copies of the to-be-placed media content so that the copies of the to-be-placed media content are preferentially placed on a cache device having large user access statistics. Embodiments of the present invention also provide an apparatus for controlling data storage.

Abstract: In one embodiment the present invention includes a method for starting up a class D amplifier. The method comprises increasing, gating, and driving. The increasing includes increasing a duty cycle of a pulse train from a first duty cycle to a second duty cycle. The gating includes gating a signal based on the increasing of the duty cycle. The gating results in a gated signal. The driving includes driving an output signal from the gated signal to charge an output capacitor. The output capacitor is coupled to a speaker. The increasing of the duty cycle contributes to the charging of the output capacitor such that switching sounds detectable by the human ear are reduced.

Abstract: A pre-processing method and system for cooperative communication are provided. The method includes: after obtaining channel matrices collected by a Base Station (BS), obtaining Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Cooperation Area (CA) information, in which the MIMO CA information includes cooperation information between BSs, and the cooperation information between the BSs is used to determine an interference relation between MIMO CAs; combining the channel matrices of a User Equipment (UE) according to the interference relation between the MIMO CAs; and performing pre-coding computation of the UE by using the combined channel matrices.

Abstract: A strain relief for distributing strain along an outer surface of an optical fiber cable is disclosed. The strain relief is shaped to surround and tangentially grip the cable via friction between the outer surface of the cable and an inner surface of the strain relief. The strain relief also includes a pulling eye to protect the cable (and a connector) from pulling force (i.e. strain), water and dust. The strain relief is relatively small, low cost and easy to use.

Abstract: The invention provides an injection molding method of stone-based composite material and equipment thereof, wherein the method comprises the following steps: a. putting raw materials into a charging device and then pushing the raw materials into a preforming machine barrel of a preforming device by a pressing component in the charging device; b. keeping the temperature being between 15° C. and 55° C. and compacting the raw materials with the rotation of a preforming screw and transporting the raw materials into a collecting block; c. injecting the raw materials into a mold through a mold gate under the injection force of 50 Mpa to 180 Mpa; d. keeping the temperature of the mold between 140° C. and 200° C. and curing time between 40 seconds and 300 seconds; and e. opening the mold to get the product. The invention has the advantages of simple production process, high acceptance rate of products manufactured, high production efficiency and low production cost.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for modifying the production levels of alkaloids in plants are provided. Alkaloid production can be genetically controlled by modulating the transcriptional activation of PMT genes mediated by members of the ERF family and/or Myc family of transcription factors. Novel nucleotide sequences encoding the Myc family of transciption factors are also provided.

Abstract: A network provider cable is routed to a splitter box in a multi-dwelling unit or commercial building where the cable fibers are terminated. One or more riser cables, each terminated at one end at the splitter box, are routed through a building shaft. Each riser cable contains fibers associated with units located on a certain set of one or more floors of the building. The other end of each riser cable is terminated at an aggregation box associated with the floors of the set. A feeder cable is routed between the aggregation box and each floor of the set, or a corresponding floor area of one floor. A drop box is provided for each floor or floor area for terminating the corresponding feeder cable. Drop cables are routed between the drop box and units on the floor or in the floor area to be served.
