  • Publication number: 20110166206
Abstract: Use of ubiquilin is described, including utilization for reducing fragmentation of presenilin 1 and 2 and to modulate ?-secretase components, Pen-2 and Nicastrin, as well as utilization for inducing increased levels of ubiquilin to reduce aggregation of polyglutamine expansion proteins known to cause cell toxicity and cell death in subjects suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, such as Huntington's and Alzheimer's diseases.

  • Publication number: 20100099747
Abstract: A method for decreasing cell death in a cell exhibiting aggregation of polyalanine-containing proteins. The method includes introduction of an expression vector to a host cell comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding ubiquilin, followed by maintaining the transformed host cell under biological conditions sufficient for expression and accumulation of the ubiquilin in the host cell, wherein overexpression of ubiquilin reduces sensitivity of cell stress induced by expanded polyalanine proteins.

  • Publication number: 20070079948
Abstract: This invention has provided a manufacturing method of semi-finished piston with inner cooling channel through liquid extrusion process, including the following steps: a) produce a wear-resistant cast iron ring with coupling hooks and a common salt and corundum dissoluble core with convex edges; b) fix the wear-resistant cast iron ring in the casting moulds after being aluminized; c) fix the dissoluble core after being pre-heated on the wear-resistant cast iron ring with coupling hooks and convex edges; d) fill in the casting mould with aluminum alloy liquid, compressing and molding. The dissoluble core can be accurately fixed in the casting mould through coupling hooks and convex edges. When the semi-finished piston has been manufactured into finished product, it shall be characterized by high compactness and high mechanical property resulted from liquid extrusion technology.

  • Publication number: 20070079775
Abstract: The present invention has provided a welding forged steel single piece piston and its manufacturing methods. A semi-finished head and a semi-finished skirt are forged respectively; the semi-finished head and semi-finished skirt are heat-treated respectively; rough machining is carried out respectively to the semi-finished head and the semi-finished skirt, and a face of weld between the two adjacent ring grooves is higher than the one under the combustion chamber; the head and the skirt are welded together through friction welding; an annular groove, a combustion chamber, a ring groove, a pinhole, an outer annulus and oil inlet/outlet holes are manufactured respectively; and the surface of the piston is phosphorized and graphitized. Compared with one-piece forged piston, it has better processing technology, because the head and skirt are forged respectively and then welded together.
