    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for provided automatic fault tolerance in data storage systems and other computer systems managing access to shared computing resources using the construct of a resource instance manager together with an architecture for designing and implementing task-oriented state-based commands for accessing the shared computing resources. A set of resource instance managers respond to all commands requesting access to a set of respective shared resources. Access to each shared resource is managed by a unique resource instance manager for that resource which maintains a consistent state for that shared resource. When commands are designed appropriately, the system can be restored using a system state history maintained transparently by a system-provided application program interface.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a face recognition system and a face recognition method, mainly comprising a lighting preprocessing module, a feature generation module, a facial feature library module, and a feature matching and recognition module. In the face recognition method, the inputted face image is first light-difference optimized by means of the lighting preprocessing module, then a feature vector of the face image is generated by means of the feature generation module; then, the feature vector to be recognized is matched with all of the feature vectors in the feature library and computed to arrive at an identity result corresponding to the feature vector to be recognized. In the technical solutions of the present invention, the identity of a face image to be recognized may be determined in real time for a system whose computing resources are limited, using a short period of time and having high accuracy.

The gesture detection and recognition method and extract a skin color under specific scene, and can gradually eliminate the influence generated by acute illumination changes, thus realizing the purpose of extracting a gesture change state.
