Abstract: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition including gastrodin and a use thereof for the prevention or the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The pharmaceutical composition is effective in reducing neuronal axon degeneration and neurofibromin accumulation, improving symptoms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and extending life of patients of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Abstract: a G-LDPC decoder is provided. The G-LDPC decoder includes: a generalized check node decoder configured to, in each of a plurality of iterations: group connected variable nodes into groups, the connected variable nodes being connected to an mth generalized check node among generalized check nodes; generate test patterns in each of one or more of the groups based on a first message received by the mth generalized check node from the connected variable nodes; and identify a value of a second message to be provided from the mth generalized check node to the connected variable nodes based on the test patterns; and a LDPC decoder circuitry configured to, in each of the iterations, update a value of an nth variable node, among the variable nodes, based on the second message received by the nth variable node from a generalized check node that is connected to the nth variable node.

Abstract: An information searching system and a searching method adapted for the system are provided. The system is utilized for searching for web pages with reference to information input by a user and removing repetitive web pages. The method includes steps: inputting a keyword on a web search engine in response to user input; searching for a number of pieces of summary information with regard to the keyword; acquiring a network address from each piece of information, acquiring each web page corresponding to the acquired network address and determining whether text information of each web page comprises another network address; and if the text information of one web page comprises another network address, removing a piece of the summary information corresponding to the web page from the number of pieces of the summary information.

Abstract: A navigation device includes a data storage for storing a navigation map, and a keyword database. The keyword database stores a number of keywords. The number of keywords are grouped into road keywords and traffic condition keywords. Each road keyword is mapped to one road on the navigation map and each traffic condition keyword corresponds to a particular traffic condition. The navigation device detects road keywords and the traffic condition keywords associated with the detected road keywords in the received audio and marks the traffic condition on the corresponding road on the navigation map according to the detected road keyword and any associated traffic condition.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a data storage, a display unit, and a processing unit. The data storage stores a plurality of files. The display unit is operable to display drawing interfaces. The electronic device selects a file requiring locking, activates a drawing tool to generate the drawing interface in response to an file locking operation, records an image file drawn by the drawing tool as a locking password following a drawing operation on the drawing interface, and associates the file with the locking password to lock the file.

Abstract: An image capturing method implemented by an image capturing device includes determining a shooting scene of interest; dividing the shooting scene into a pre-set number of sub-areas; focusing on each of the pre-set number of sub-areas to have object(s) in each of the pre-set number of sub-areas clearly imaged with a corresponding focus setting, and capturing corresponding element images to produce the pre-set number of element images; associating all the element images together in a collection; and accessing any one of the element images according to a user input after the collection is accessed. Abstract: A vehicle use control system and method are provided. The vehicle use control system includes a vehicle unlocking unit, a vehicle control unit, and at least one mobile communication unit. One mobile communication unit transmits a request to use a vehicle to the vehicle unlocking unit. The vehicle unlocking unit receives the request and generates a first prompt to a key holder which prompts whether to accept the request, and if an approval is received, the vehicle unlocking unit generates a first authentication information to the vehicle control unit and the mobile communication unit. The mobile communication unit acquires a second authentication information in response to user input to the vehicle control unit. If the second authentication information matches the first authentication information, the vehicle control unit unlocks the vehicle and allows the vehicle to be started up.

The method includes: providing a plurality of transparent keys connected to LEDs on a provided keyboard; determining whether a transparent key is pressed; storing the ASCII code of the input of the pressed transparent key; finding at least one ASCII code as a possible next input towards typing a word from a provided dictionary corresponding to a character input method in use according to the stored ASCII code; lighting up at least one LED corresponding to the at least one found ASCII code according to provided relationships between the LEDs and the ASCII codes of the input of the transparent keys. Abstract: A horse measuring ruler structure including a vernier main body, a fixing stopper block, two resilient slide blocks, a locating ruler, a locating device, an inner ruler, an outer ruler, a, protective frame and a locking device. The vernier main body is composed of a trapezoid board and two panels rightward extending respectively from middle sections of front and rear sides of the trapezoid board. The upper and lower sections of the right side of the trapezoid board are respectively formed with two T-shaped sockets. The left end of the locating ruler is fitted into the space between the right sections of the panels of the vernier main body and pivotally located by the locating device. The locking device is fitted into the circular receiving chamber of lower end of the inner ruler. The protective frame is fitted onto upper end of the outer ruler and the inner ruler is fitted into the outer ruler. The resilient slide blocks are fitted into the T-shaped cavities of the trapezoid board of the vernier main body.
