  • Patent number: 11422663
Abstract: In an example, a method of sensing on a touchscreen including a plurality of touch sensors arranged in rows and columns on the touchscreen is described. The method includes detecting a passive touch on the touchscreen and a positon of an active stylus; determining a plurality of locations across the touchscreen corresponding to the passive touch and a positon of the active stylus, where each of the plurality of locations corresponds to a location of one of the plurality of touch sensors. The method includes transmitting a first uplink signal to a first group of the plurality of locations including a first fraction of the plurality of locations; and transmitting a second uplink signal to a second group of the plurality of locations including a second fraction of the plurality of locations, the first uplink signal being different from the second uplink signal.

  • Publication number: 20170102758
Abstract: A touch screen controller provides a host interrupt to a host device operating in a low power consumption mode. The touch screen controller uses gesture templates to detect gestures input via a touch screen. Each gesture template is associated with an event identifier, and each event identifier is associated an application. Each gesture template includes a template identifier, a matching threshold, a criterion, and coordinates corresponding to locations on the touch screen panel. If at least one of the coordinates corresponding to a gesture input via the touch screen satisfies the criterion included in a particular gesture template, the touch screen controller provides a host interrupt with the event identifier corresponding to that gesture template to the host device. In response to receiving the host interrupt with the event identifier, the host device exits the low power consumption mode and opens the application associated with the event identifier.

  • Patent number: 9178545
Abstract: A digital filter receives a sequence of input signal values. A filtering block performs a filtering operation on sequence of input signal values that is controlled by filter coefficients. A control block also receives the sequence of input signal values. The control block evaluates detected changes over time with respect to the sequence of input signal values and selects values for the filter coefficients based on the detected changes. The detected change over time provides an indication of the whether the sequence of input signal values is changing signal state. If so, the filter coefficients are selected to emphasize signal response time over signal noise filtering for the filtering operation. Otherwise, the filter coefficients are selected to emphasize signal noise filtering over signal response time for the filtering operation.

  • Patent number: 9134848
Abstract: A method tracks a plurality of touch points across successive frames of a touch sensitive input device to determine a trajectory. Each touch point on a frame of a touch sensitive input device is correlated with another distinct touch point on a subsequent frame of the same touch sensitive input device. The correlation is based on examining in the subsequent frame an area surrounding each touch point on the previous frame. Touch points identified within this search area are prioritized based on a projected trajectory through the prior touch point based on historical data.

  • Publication number: 20100315372
Abstract: A touch sensitive interface includes a plurality of touch pads that can each register an impedance change indicating a contact. For each contact a plurality of touch pads is identified and within that plurality of associated touch pads one or more seed points is located. Each seed point possesses an input value greater than the input value at each neighboring touch pad. From each seed point within the plurality of touch pads associated with a contact, a region of touch pads is identified. A centroid of each formed region can then be determined to ascertain a touch coordinate.

  • Patent number: 7640572
Abstract: A method of automatically disabling a low noise amplifier (LNA) that serves to boost weak video signals in a TV tuner, when the television receives a cable TV service. The method involves storing the total number of preset programs assigned during an initial auto-tune setup operation. If the total count exceeds a predetermined threshold, this indicates cable TV service whose signals will not require boosting. The LNA is then disabled to avoid interference between programs on neighboring channels.
