  • Publication number: 20040023682
Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure of an antenna and its shielding structure for a mobile phone which may significantly reduce the hazardous electromagnetic wave transmitted to the user's body. The present invention arranges a monopole antenna inside of the mobile phone housing, and installs an electromagnetic wave absorber between the antenna and the circuit board. The electromagnetic wave absorber can absorb the electromagnetic wave reflected form conductive plate constituting the circuit board. Thus, the adverse effect of the reflected electromagnetic wave to the performance of antenna is prevented and the amount of the electromagnetic wave to which the users is exposed can be significantly reduced as well.

  • Patent number: 6289290
Abstract: A method for evaluating radiation electric fields using output port powers of GTEM cell to obtain correlation between GTEM cell and Open Area Test Site(hereinafter, called OATS) in order to simulate electromagnetic wave radiation emission more accurate than GTEM(Giga-hertz Transverse Electromagnetic; hereinafter, called GTEM) cell, one of replacing facilities of OATS, a test facility for evaluating radiation emission for a test of electromagnetic interference(EMI). The adaption to a phase change of a dipole moment is very high by computing the electric field from a radiated matter using 15 GTEM cell output port powers as well as stably evaluating a radiation quantity upon considering the respective phase of the dipole illustrating an object due to various input values required in the algorithm.

  • Patent number: 6242130
Abstract: A case for a secondary battery includes a pan having a space for accommodating a battery main body and an opening. A first bonding portion extends along the edge of the pan. A second bonding portion extends along the edge of the cover portion for corresponding attachment to the first bonding portion when folded onto the pan. Thus, mass production of the case is possible and the bonding portion becomes firm when the first and second bonding portions are bonded together.

  • Patent number: 6114860
Abstract: A rotary coupled transmission line cell is disclosed which generates standard electromagnetic waves needed for measuring the electromagnetic wave susceptibility (EMS), for measuring the electromagnetic wave interference (EMI) and for correcting the probe. In the present invention, two internal conductors are used to have a 4-port structure, and therefore, the generation of the circulation transmission waves are inhibited during the generation of the standard waves having arbitrary impedances. Therefore, accurate standard waves can be generated, and adjustments of arbitrary polarizations and arbitrary irradiating directions are made possible. Further, when an odd mode power supply is carried out to the internal conductors, the standard electromagnetic waves having a uniformity as high as 3 times that of the conventional ones can be generated. Further, an inverted L shaped test object supporting plate is installed, so that the polarization can be carried out with a greater adjustment width.

  • Patent number: 6051871
Abstract: A heterojunction bipolar transistor has a mesa including collector 604, base 603, and emitter 602 layers. The mesa has first and second sidewalls 606. An improved heat dissipation structure comprises a layer of electrically insulative and thermally conductive material 607 disposed on one of the sidewalls. A thermal path metal 600 is electrically connected to the emitter 602 and is disposed on the layer of electrically insulative and thermally conductive material 607. The thermal path metal 600 extends from the emitter 602 to the substrate 608 providing for efficient dissipation of heat that is generated by the HBT device.
