  • Patent number: 9456678
Abstract: An applicator assembly is disclosed having a rotating applicator, a controller, and an LED. A fragrance, cosmetic or other substance, preferably liquid, gelatinous, semi-fluid, or semi-solid, is applied to the user or object by pressing dragging the rolling applicator onto an application surface. As the applicator is dragged, the rolling applicator rotates and distributes the fragrance, cosmetic or other substance onto the application surface. In addition, as the rolling applicator rotates, the controller can generate signals based on movement of the rolling applicator that are used to vary an attribute of light emitting from one or more LEDs. Movement of the rotating applicator preferably causes a change in the wavelength or intensity of the one or more LEDs.

  • Publication number: 20130209325
Abstract: This invention provides for a test strip to detect common “date rape” drugs, which is hidden and discretely mounted on the underside of a fingernail (hereinafter known as “A Discrete, Hidden Fingernail Mounted Date Rape Drug Detection Device”). The test strip will react positively and detect even the smallest amounts of the most common of these so called family of date rape drugs. These drugs currently include but are not limited to gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (“GEM”), drugs in the benzodiazepine family (such as flunitrazepam, or Rohypnol, or “roofies”), and ketazines. The test strip can be in one embodiment mounted on the underside of a fake fingernail, and in another embodiment mounted on the underside of a true long fingernail. When the test strip detects any one of the drugs mentioned above, a change in color will instantaneously alert the drinker that their drink has been tampered with.

  • Publication number: 20130207900
Abstract: This invention (hereafter referred to as “A Fingernail Mounted Device To Allow Typing Input On Touch Sensitive Computer Or Mobile Device Screens”) provides the ability for human subjects with natural or fake fingernails to be able to type on a “capacitive” touch sensitive computer or mobile device screen using the tips of the fingernails, and without having to make physical contact with the touch sensitive screen using the skin portion of the fingers. The majority of touch screens in use today, especially those on mobile devices, utilize capacitive touch screens where a layer of the glass stores a matrix of electrical charge that discharges a small amount when in contact with skin on the human subject's fingers, and this type of screen does not respond to typing on fingernail tips or any other type of pointer device. The invention in this application solves this problem.

  • Publication number: 20130201664
Abstract: This invention describes a “Portable LED Lighting Helmet To Illuminate A Cyclist Or A Subject While Riding Or Otherwise In Motion”. This Portable LED lighting Apparatus in this application describes one embodiment where a partial ring of LED lights integrated into a bicycle helmet serve to illuminate the bicycle rider while the rider is in motion. Unlike other portable lighting helmet devices the illumination is directed downwards at the rider and the cyclist in motion rather than ahead or behind the rider in order to solve the depth perception and clarity problem in viewing riders in low light conditions. In another embodiment, this invention provides for a detachable portable LED lighting strip to achieve the same purpose.

  • Publication number: 20130176717
Abstract: This invention describes a makeup applicator device with a built-in, portable light source that can be moved closer to the point of makeup application while the makeup is being applied. (hereinafter “Makeup Applicator with Moveable Light Source”). This apparatus provides a small battery powered LED light source built into either the applicator wand itself or into the outside casing of the applicator device. The light source is brought closer to the application point by either moving the light source closer to the point where the makeup contacts the human subject, or alternatively by moving the applicator itself closer to a stationary light source. The movements described herein are accomplished either by a twist motion on the applicator cap or a small sliding mechanism built into the cap itself.

  • Publication number: 20130148358
Abstract: This invention describes a detachable cover apparatus for a compact fluorescent light (CFL) light bulb (hereinafter “Detachable CFL Cover”) that affects illumination diffusion, quality, and color. The cover apparatus is slipped over the light emitting portion of the CFL light and attached to the base of the bulb. Upon attachment, the Detachable CFL Cover provides the ability to diffuse or soften, reflect, or change the color of the light emitted from the CFL bulb for practical utilitarian or cosmetic purposes. The Detachable CFL Cover is pressure-mounted to the CFL bulb, hence is detachable, and interchangeable with other Detachable CFL Covers to provide a multitude of illumination options from a single CFL light source.
