  • Patent number: 4719560
Abstract: A rotary phase generator for generating 3 phase voltage is provided which can operate off of 230 or 460 volts A-C. Also provided is a rotary phase generator which has two groups of running capacitors for providing a stable voltage on the third phase at no load and light loads. In addition, a booster system is provided for a rotary phase generator to provide high starting torque to one or more of the motors operated on the rotary phase generator. A plurality of smaller rotary phase generators may be connected in parallel and started in time delay sequence to eliminate the heavy starting current when starting the system on one phase power.

  • Patent number: 4513237
Abstract: A circuit which enables a three phase, Y connected motor to be operated on either one phase or three phase power at either 230 or 460 AC line voltage. A modified circuit includes power factor correction capacitor banks for increasing the power factor and efficiency of the motor whether connected for one phase or three phase operation at either line voltage.

  • Patent number: 4378520
Abstract: A D-C relay control is employed for a single phase induction motor for disconnecting the starting capacitors and/or starting windings from the main windings as the motor speed increases upon start up. D-C for the relay control is obtained from a rectifier coupled to the starting windings.

  • Patent number: 4350945
Abstract: The control relay of a phase converter for converting a three phase motor to one phase operation is operated by D-C power in order to prevent voltage fluctuations on single phase power lines from causing the starting capacitors or the motor from being destroyed. The D-C power is obtained from a rectifier having its input coupled to the secondary of a transformer. The primary of the transformer is adapted to be coupled to the windings of the motor. The phase converter is adapted to be used with a 230 volt or 460 volt motor.
