  • Patent number: 5746251
Abstract: A multi-port valve mechanism for fluids, especially compressed air, comprises a cylindrical (ring-like) housing. A motor drives a shaft centered in the housing which is rotatably supported by the housing walls. The shaft carries an arm having one, or two, rollers which pinch close a flexible and resilient elongated tube, which tube is secured to the inside wall of the housing. A series of port orifices are aligned and spaced along the tube; so that an inlet port is connected to outlet ports, one after the other, in sequence, as the pinch roller is moved along the tube by the arm.

  • Patent number: 5571075
Abstract: A method for vascular exercise involves the subject performing physical exercise to raise his heart rate at least 25% above his normal rate. Then a series of air-inflatable bladders (cuffs) on the subject's limbs are inflated in sequence, starting with the bladder furthest from the trunk, to force blood toward the trunk. Preferably a nose clip feeds oxygen to the subject during the physical exercise, and the subject lies prone with his legs raised, during the inflation of the bladders on the legs.

  • Patent number: 5062413
Abstract: A system for cleaning teeth includes a vacuum motor and a liquid container, each being connected through suction and liquid lines, respectively, to a teeth cleaning head which forms an air tight chamber over two to five teeth. In one embodiment, a one-piece head member has a resilient oval lip which seals against the teeth, a cavity, and a rotatably mounted cleaning roller in the cavity, with the roller being roated by the force of the liquid as the liquid is pulled over the roller by the vacuum. In another embodiment two clamp members, each having a resilient lip, are urged against the front and back faces of adjoining teeth by a spring to form an air-tight chamber on the teeth.

  • Patent number: 5027797
Abstract: A program of regular vascular exercise involves repeating cycles of blood movement obtained by seating the user in the base portion of the apparatus and clamping a top member shell to the base portion. Under the user's control pressurizing apparatus, controlled by a microcomputer based timing arrangement, inflates and deflates a series of pressure cuffs around each limb to provide a peristaltic-like action which forces blood toward the trunk of the body.

  • Patent number: 4991570
Abstract: A system for cleaning of teeth and gums and removing food particles from between the teeth includes a motor driven suction pump and a source of liquid. A clamp means forms an air-tight chamber over a few of the teeth at a time and includes two clamp members, each having a cavity with bristles. A vacuum is applied from the suction pump to one clamp member and draws liquid to the other clamp member and through the enclosed teeth.

  • Patent number: 4865020
Abstract: In a program of regular vascular exercise involves repeating cycles of blood movement, for example, each vascular exercise period of one hour may involve twenty cycles. In each cycle pressurizing apparatus under control of a timing arrangement inflates and deflates a series of pressure cuffs around each limb, for example, each limb has seven cuffs. The cuffs at the limbs are inflated in sequence starting with the cuff nearest the limb extremity to provide a peristaltic-like action. The inflation of all the limb cuffs forces blood toward the trunk of the body. The trunk cuff is pulsed at the same time the limb cuffs are maintained inflated.
