  • Patent number: 7441068
Abstract: A flash memory and a method for utilizing the same are disclosed. The method for utilizing a flash memory includes the steps of: a) providing a flash memory of a single chip; b) formatting the flash memory and marking bad blocks of the flash memory as a bad-block area free of reliably saved data; c) calculating a capacity of an available memory with the flash memory, wherein the available memory excludes the bad-block area of the flash memory; and d) dividing the available memory into a first storing memory and a second storing memory, wherein the first storing memory and the second storing memory have different capacities.

  • Publication number: 20060182427
Abstract: The present invention discloses a multimedia player, which has a controller chip separately connected to an audio/video transmission interface, a hard disk, a USB connecting interface and a control interface, and the controller chip installs a digital signal processing (DSP) chip and a USB controller. Since a hard disk is used as a storage device for the multimedia player, the multimedia player can have more data storage spaces to lower the cost of video recording or audio recording, and thus further lowering the price of the product and stimulating consumer's desire for the purchase. The USB connecting interface is connected to an electronic product having a host, so that the multimedia player can directly play the data stored in the electronic product having a host or store data into the hard disk of the multimedia player.

  • Publication number: 20050210160
Abstract: The present invention is related to a portable storage device for personalizing computer, wherein an application program is stored in the portable storage device. The portable storage device has a connector for connecting to the connecting port of an electronic device. When the connector and the connecting port are electrically connected, the application program is executed to output the personal profile of the portable storage device to the electronic device, or the personal profile of the electronic device is stored in the portable storage device. Thus, the user can readily change the personal profile in the operating system, so that the task may be accomplished accurately and efficiently, and the problems caused by the operational interface as described in the prior art may be avoided.
