  • Patent number: 10178914
Abstract: A sleep assist device for seated persons that when placed either on top of a seated person's lap, over a desk, on an airliner seat tray table or any equivalent base contiguous to said seated person provides him/her with an adequate raised support for his/hers head and also allows the seated person to embrace (to hug) a two-open-ends box-like structure 10 by positioning his/her arms and hands inside an open-throughout volumetric-space 12 preferably over-and-around a pair of inner panels 17-17 in a cozy and comfortable resting posture that, indeed, is conducive to relaxation and sleep. Meanwhile, a vertical panel 16 that is connected to the pair of inner panels 17-17 may contact said seated person's chest. The sleep assist device for seated persons when folded up for storage or to be carried is relatively small and lightweight, allowing a user to conveniently place it into: carry-on luggage, a ladies' handbag, a business briefcase or a suitcase.

  • Publication number: 20120132173
Abstract: A fuel-conditioning-method and coupled-combustion process incorporated into internal combustion engines minimizes exhaust emission and improves fuel economy. Gasification chamber 10 affixed into piston 12 is placed under piston crown 14, transfer port 18 carved into cylinder 20 wall connects into combustion chamber 22, arrow 26 indicates that gasified fuel is transferred from chamber 10 into combustion chamber 22 initiating combustion. When pressure inside combustion chamber 22 is higher than that inside chamber 10 a reverse flow fills chamber 10 with hot combustion gases. During piston 12 downstroke gasification chamber inlet/outlet 34 overpass bottom edge 36 part of transfer port 18, therefore hot combustion gases are shut close inside chamber 10 by cylinder 20 wall. When piston 12 is at BDC fuel injector 24 injects fuel that absorbs heat from entrapped combustion gases vaporizing. During piston upstroke gasification chamber inlet/outlet 34 reaches the bottom edge 36 and the cycle repeats.

  • Patent number: 6871776
Abstract: A process and apparatus for manufacturing Solid Solder Deposit-Printed Circuit Board (SSD-PCB) by melting dry solder powder previously deposited on a pocketed-PCB 20. The process and apparatus utilize as heat source an electrically heated conveyor wire mesh 76 instead of a reflow oven. This invention, unlike the prior art for producing SSD-PCB, can readily utilize dry solder powder in conjunction with flux layers 116 separately deposited on top of the conveyor wire mesh 76 thereby excluding the use of solder paste and associated paste printing equipment. Specifically the invention reduces the manufacturing cost because: shortens manufacturing time, reduces manufacturing energy consumption and requires less manufacturing equipment than prior art.

  • Publication number: 20040178251
Abstract: A novel process and apparatus for manufacturing Solid Solder Deposit-Printed Circuit Board (SSD-PCB) by either melting solder paste or dry solder powder previously deposited on a pocketed-PCB 20. Said process and apparatus, unlike the prior art, utilize as heat source an electrically heated conveyor wire mesh 76 instead of a reflow oven. Relatively thick flat-shaped SSDs 44 metallurgically bonded over each soldering pad 24 of said pocketed-PCB 20 are formed. By itself, SSD-PCB technology provides the electronic assembly industry with ready-to-solder PCBs consequently eliminating the need to use solder paste at the assembly line. This invention, unlike the prior art for producing SSD-PCBs, can utilize dry solder powder piles 38 in conjunction with flux layers 116 deposited on top of said conveyor wire mesh 76 thereby excluding, all together, the use of paste printing equipment.

  • Patent number: 6548790
Abstract: A novel apparatus for manufacturing Solid-Solder-Deposit Printed Circuit Boards (SSD-PCBs) by melting solder powder via induction heating consequently forming relatively thick layers of solid solder over the soldering pads of a bare-PCB 230. Solid Solder Deposit (SSD) refers to a relatively thick layer of solid solder metallurgically bonded over the soldering pads of a bare-PCB 230 such as that said SSD-PCB by itself is the source for solder alloy during a subsequent soldering operation. The manufacture of SSD-PCBs provides the electronic assembly industry with ready-to-solder PCBs consequently eliminates the need to use solder paste at the assembly floor. This invention, unlike the prior art for producing SSD-PCBs, utilizes a solder powder pile 232 that is melted by localized electromagnetic induction heating.

  • Publication number: 20020148881
Abstract: A novel process for manufacturing Solid-Solder-Deposit Printed Circuit Boards (SSD-PCBs) by directly melting dry solder powder over a bare-PCB 230 consequently forming relatively thick individual layers of solid solder over each soldering pad of said bare-PCB 230. Solid Solder Deposit (SSD) refers to a relatively thick layer of solid solder metallurgically bonded over the soldering pads of a bare-PCB 230 such as that said SSD-PCB by itself is the source for solder alloy during a subsequent soldering operation. • Patent number: 6229124
Abstract: A new apparatus for inductively soldering surface-mount, straddle-mount and through-hole type electronic components into a self-soldering PCB (printed circuit board) in an automated fashion utilizing localized Electromagnetic Induction Heating (E.I.H.). Current manufacture technology for packaging electronic components depends on the reflow and wave soldering processes. Both processes heat up to relatively high temperatures the entire assembly, namely its PCB and all the electronic components being soldered into it. Such harsh high-temperature environment frequently causes components damage resulting in rejects and/or demanding rework. With this invention reflow oven and/or wave soldering equipment is not required. During a soldering operation only the leads and pads being soldered are heated but neither the body of said electronic components nor the dielectric material forming said self-soldering PCB and its interconnecting traces are heated.

Abstract: A new apparatus and process for soldering surface-mount and through-hole type electronic components into a printed circuit board (PCB) in an automated fashion utilizing localized electromagnetic induction heating. Current manufacture technology for packaging electronic components depends exclusively on the reflow and wave soldering processes. Both processes heat up to relatively high temperature the entire assembly, namely its PCB and all the electronic components been soldered into it. Such high temperature environment frequently causes components damage resulting in rejects and/or demanding rework. With this invention however, during a soldering operation only the leads and pads, or joints, being soldered are heated but neither the body, or casing, of said electronic components nor the dielectric material forming said PCB are heated. Because of this selectively localized heating, the invention permits to reduce cost and improve the quality and reliability of manufactured products.

  • Patent number: 4008041
Abstract: An arrangement to produce high efficiency gas phase combustion of liquid fuels. A liquid fuel, such as conventional heating oil, is pumped through a heat exchanger immersed in a liquid bath whose temperature is maintained at a level which is sufficiently high to cause the fuel to gassify but low enough to preclude undesirable chemical decomposition. The liquid bath is contained within an element which is directly exposed to a flame produced by the combustion of the gasified liquid fuel. The liquid bath temperature is controlled by varying the amount of surface area exposed to the flame or by internal forced circulation of the bath liquid. The gasified fuel is injected into an air or oxidizing gas stream and allowed to premix prior to combustion. Combustion is initiated by a spark or pilot flame and is stabilized by a flameholder.
