Abstract: Aqueous dye preparations useful for producing inks for the inkjet process or writing inks or for producing aqueous alcoholic coating or printing colors comprise, based on the weight of the preparation, from 0.1 to 15% by weight of a dye quantity comprising from 90 to 100% by weight of the dye of the formula I ##STR1## where Kat.sup..sym. is the equivalent of a metal or ammonium ion, from 1 to 40% by weight of carbon black and from 0.1 to 15% by weight of polyethylene glycol.

Abstract: Pigment preparations useful for pigmenting or delustering finishes for leather and leather substitutes consist essentially of pigments or delusterants or a mixture thereof, binders, water and if desired further customary dispersants and auxiliaries, the binders used being copolymers ofA) from 40 to 80% by weight of at least one aromatic vinyl compound of the general formula I ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each hydrogen, methyl or ethyl and n is 1 or 2,B) from 20 to 60% by weight of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or a mixture thereof, andC) from 0 to 10% by weight of further copolymerizable monomers,in the form of their salts.

Abstract: Solid pigment formulations containing from 70 to 97% by weight, based on the total weight of the formulation, of one or more pigments and also from 3 to 30% by weight, based on the total weight of the formulation, of at least one surfactant which is an adduct of ethylene oxide and optionally propylene oxide with ethylenediamine, the proportion of ethylene oxide being from 46 to 100% by weight, based on the total weight of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in the adduct, and the adduct having an average molecular weight of from 5000 to 40,000, are useful for pigmenting printing ink and gloss paint compositions.

Abstract: Leather is dyed with pigments in an aqueous liquor at from 20.degree. to 60.degree. C. in the presence of an alkoxylated amine of 20 or more carbon atoms.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of stable dispersions of finely divided polyisocyanates, and the preparation of heat-crosslinkable isocyanate systems.Stable dispersions of finely divided polyisocyanates in a liquid which may or may not contain surfactants, protective colloids and other assistants are obtained by a method in which polyisocyanates are treated with a stabilizer in the presence of absence of the liquid, and the dispersions prepared from these are finely dispersed and/or milled under the action of high shear forces, if necessary with the addition of further stabilizer.These dispersions are useful as crosslinking agents, particularly for the preparation of heat-cross-linkable isocyanate systems.

Abstract: Pigment printing pastes and dyeing liquors containing finely divided solid dispersions of polyisocyanates which have been deactivated on the surface and have a melting point about 25.degree. C. and a particle size of from 0.1 to 15 .mu.m as crosslinking agents in an amount of from 0.1 to 6% by weight.

Abstract: Aqueous suspensions of finely divided titanium dioxide are produced in the presence of dispersants by a process in which titanium dioxide powder and caprolactam are kneaded together in the dry state at from 15.degree. to 40.degree. C., the resulting mixture is kneaded with the addition of water, the paste thus obtained is suspended in water, the suspension is then allowed to sediment, and the resulting suspension containing finely divided titanium dioxide is decanted.

Abstract: Highly concentrated, dust-free, solid and readily dispersible pigment formulations contain(a) from 70 to 95% by weight of one or more finely divided pigments,(b) from 5 to 30% by weight of one or more surfactants which possess 20-45% by weight of ethylene oxide units, have a mean molecular weight of from 4,000 to 15,000 and are obtained by reacting an amine of the formula ##STR1## where R is C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 -alkylene, R.sup.1 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl and n is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, or R is 1,3-phenylene, 1,4-phenylene or 4,4'-diphenylenemethane, R.sup.1 is H and n is 1, with propylene oxide and then reacting the product with ethylene oxide, and(c) from 0 to 5% by weight of waxes and/or antifoams, with or without(d) other agents conventionally used in pigment formulations, the percentages being based on (a+b+c).The formulations are very useful for pigmenting aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous/alcoholic printing inks and surface coatings, and printing pastes for textiles.

Abstract: Aqueous pigment formulations containing glycol and having good flow, good water retention and good flocculation resistance which contain dipropylene glycol as a flow improver. The formulations are particularly suitable for pigmenting aqueous polymer dispersions and textile pigment printing and dope dyeing.

Abstract: An aqueous pigment dispersion which contains (a) pigment, (b) a water-soluble surfactant and water and a water-retaining agent in which (b) is a reaction product of a polyhydroxyl compound with from 3 to 50 moles of propylene oxide and from 2 to 70 moles of ethylene oxide per equivalent of hydroxyl. The dispersions give bright and deep-shade emulsion paints or distempers containing cellulose ethers.
