  • Patent number: 7566403
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for eliminating nitrogenous organic compounds from a salt-containing water which contains more than 0.5% by weight of salt in the form of CaCl2 or NaCl, less than 200 ppm of dissolved carbonic acid or carbonates and more than 50 ppm of nitrogenous organic compounds, by treating the water by wet oxidation at a temperature of below 100° C. with chlorine or a chlorine-containing oxidizing agent and feeding this, preferably after additional oxidation with a gaseous oxidizing agent and/or by adsorption with an adsorbent, to an electrolysis for producing chlorine and/or sodium hydroxide solution.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 28, 2009
    Assignee: LANXESS Deutschland GmbH

  • Patent number: 5639909
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved process for the production of 2-phosphono-butane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid (PBTC) and the alkali metal salts thereof, in which process dialkyl phosphite, preferably dimethyl or diethyl phosphite, and ethene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid dialkyl ester, in particular the dimethyl or diethyl ester of maleic acid and/or fumaric acid, are initially reacted in the presence of a basic catalyst to yield a phosphonosuccinic acid tetraalkyl ester, the resultant ester is thereupon reacted without further working up with acrylic acid alkyl ester, preferably methyl or ethyl acrylate, in the presence of an alkaline catalyst and the reaction product obtained in this manner is saponified without further working up to yield PBTC or the alkali metal salts thereof. The product when mixed with bleaching lye exhibits reduced chlorine depletion.

  • Patent number: 4993595
Abstract: A multicomponent product container includes two separate component compartments covered by a common pouring cap, individual pouring openings for the first and second components contained in the compartments, respectively, offset from one another relative to the longitudinal axis of the container and opening in the plane of an outer surface provided in said cap. The pouring openings are each juxtaposed in the pouring direction necessary to dispense the first and second components, by an individual pouring edge, which both rises beyond the outer surface of the cap, and projects beyond the associated pouring opening in the lateral or peripheral direction. Each pouring edge is shaped for providing in the tilted position of the container necessary for pouring via gravity said first and second components from said pouring openings, a sink formed in the region of the associated pouring opening.

  • Patent number: 4778102
Abstract: A folding box with an integrated dispenser and pouring opening for powder products and granulates to provide for uniform dispensing, even during the first dispensing process, and to be made in one piece on erection of the folding box from a flat box blank. The dispenser has a dispensing duct wall which extends over the entire width of the pouring side wall transversely of the pouring opening and which is cut below the height of the pouring opening and displaced parallel into the interior of the box to form a wall of the dispensing chamber. The wall of the dispensing chamber is fixed at the base of the dispensing chamber by means of a pressure tongue secured to the pouring side wall.
