  • Patent number: 5815871
Abstract: A ramp member for a loading dock has a bridge member with a forward and and rearward end. The rearward end is connected to the loading dock so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis. An extension plate is connected with a first end by a pivot connection to the forward end of the bridge member such that the extension plate is pivotable from a folded position into a working position. In the rest position of the bridge member the extension plate is folded and rests on an abutment for supporting the bridge member. The first end of the extension plate has a projection extending over its entire length. The projection has a cross-sectional shape of a circular ring sector with an inner and an outer radius. The outer surface of the projection is defined by the outer radius and the inner surface is defined by the inner radius. A profiled member with an interior space is connected to the forward end of the bridge member and extends over the entire length of the pivot connection.

  • Patent number: 5640733
Abstract: The loading bridge for ramps has a bridge plate having a forward and a rearward end. It is connected with the rearward end to the ramp so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis. An extension connected to the forward end of the bridge plate is provided and is extendable from an initial position into an extended position for supporting the bridge plate on a vehicle to be loaded and unloaded and retractable from the extended position into the initial position. At least one support leg with an upper and a lower end for supporting the bridge plate in a rest position is provided. The support leg is pivotably connected with the upper end to the bridge plate such that the lower end swivels upwardly toward the rearward end of the bridge plate when the extension is extended. The support leg has a positioning lever. The extension has a downwardly projecting beam.

An extension is connected to the forward end of the bridge plate so as to be extendable from an initial position into an extended position for supporting the bridge plate on a platform to be loaded and unloaded and retractable from the extended position into the initial position. At least one support leg with an upper and a lower end is provided for supporting the bridge plate in a rest position. The support leg is pivotably connected to the bridge plate such that the lower end swivels upwardly toward the rearward end of the bridge plate when the extension is extended. The support leg has at the upper end an end face for supporting a downwardly extending part of the bridge plate. The support leg has at the upper end a holding member extending upwardly toward the bridge plate for pivotably connecting the upper end to the bridge plate.

  • Patent number: 5467563
Abstract: A deformable sealing device for a gap between a wall opening of a building wall and a back wall of a vehicle docking at the wall opening has a flap-shaped deformable skirt for receiving loads by the back wall of the vehicle docking at the wall opening. The skirt has an upper transverse portion and two vertical strips that are arranged parallel to vertical sides of the wall opening. A cover is connected between the upper transverse portion and the building wall. The vertical strips have vertically extending outer edges with stiffened edge profiles. First guide members are connected between the stiffened edge profiles and the building wall, whereby the first guide members extend at a slant relative to the vertical. Each first guide member is a first tension spring with windings that are directly adjacent to one another.

  • Patent number: 5214881
Abstract: An apparatus for producing driving belts is improved with regard to an increased production speed, reduced energy requirements for each belt produced, and increased environmental compatibility. A semifinished belt is clamped on two rolls and is provided with a profile by means of a grinding tool containing an abrasive. The grinding tool is cooled internally whereby dry grinding can be effected, as opposed to previous wet grinding processes and the inherent disadvantages thereof.

  • Patent number: 5188010
Abstract: An arrangement for cutting thin-walled reinforced closed bands of rubber into rectangular belts having the same width is suggested wherein the closed band is tensioned between two rollers. By deflecting one of the two rollers, the closed band experiences a force component parallel to the roller fixed in position which drives the closed band against a stop. With this arrangement of the stop on the end facing toward the cutting device even thin-walled closed bands can be cut into rectangular belts with a uniformity in width not attained previously.

  • Patent number: 4710251
Abstract: Virtually inextensible V drive belts are manufactured from a sleeve of rubber containing substantially longitudinal polymer stability supports by vulcanizing the sleeve on a tubular former and immediately sealing the sleeve and former inside a sleeve member and thereafter while the sleeve is still warm stretching the belt sleeve radially by application of pressure medium between the former and the sleeve. The belt sleeve is then cooled under tension and cut into individual belts.
