  • Patent number: 10086941
Abstract: A multifunctional pod for an aircraft has at least two separate regions. At least one first region of the pod is provided for receiving fuel. A second region of the pod includes at least one receiving device for releasably attaching at least one additional load. The additional load can be releasably attached to the receiving device via a loading opening on the side of the pod facing away from the aircraft.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2016
Date of Patent: October 2, 2018
Assignee: Airbus Defence and Space GmbH

  • Patent number: 8847845
Abstract: A mount for a movable sensor on a support structure is provided. The sensor is alignable with a sensor target. The mount includes at least two mutually spaced sensor-based bearings, at least two mutually spaced support-structure-based bearings, at least two longitudinally adjustable actuator units arranged between an associated sensor-based bearing and an associated support-structure-based bearing, and a center bearing that is configured to pivotably support the sensor on the support structure about a kinematic center point on at least two spatial axes.

    Assignee: EADS Deutschland GmbH
    Inventors: Bernhard Ahring, Horst Christof
  • Publication number: 20120181400
Abstract: A holding device for a displaceable sensor is provided. The holding device has two or three motor-rotatable rings for accommodating a sensor, and the axes of rotation of the two or three motor-rotatable rings are oblique with respect to one another. The axes of rotation intersect at a virtual pivot point.

  • Publication number: 20090050744
Abstract: An aircraft has an emergency landing system which includes a paraglider for the emergency landing phase of the aircraft and an attitude positioning parachute for decelerating and subsequently swiveling the aircraft with respect to the flight direction. The vertical axis essentially corresponds to the direction of pull from the attitude positioning parachute.

  • Patent number: 6962308
Abstract: A load-bearing paraglider system includes a load-bearing paraglider with a trailing edge, paraglider straps that connect the load-bearing paraglider with a control unit, and a load suspended on the load-bearing paraglider using load-bearing straps. At least one flaring strand is connected with the trailing edge for implementing control and curved flight maneuvers on the basis of activating the flaring strand using the force of the weight of the load. The control unit has a transmission unit with at least two load-bearing rollers for same direction rolling up of load-bearing straps or paraglider straps as well as at least one flaring strand roller for accommodating a flaring strand whereby the at least one flaring strand is rolled up on the allocated flaring strand roller. The load-bearing strap or the paraglider straps are rolled off in a predetermined direction of rotation with at least one flaring strand being rolled up in the same direction of rotation.
