Abstract: This invention relates to expanded polyester materials comprised of polyester/acrylic elastomer blend having an improved ductility and impact resistance, while the compression strength, shear strength/modulus of polyesters remain almost unchanged or unworsened. Addition of a non-reactive/reactive acrylic mixture serving as the blend partner improves the melt strength in an expanding process and leads to a better impact resistance of expanded aromatic polyester materials. All expanded polyester materials are produced with help of a reactive process.

Abstract: Manufacturing of polyester based expanded materials made mostly of pre-cleaned and compounded post-consumer polyester by increasing the intrinsic viscosity (IV) during an extrusion process is described. By careful selection of processing conditions and parameters, it is possible to obtain low density polyester foam material with good cellular structure and under stable processing conditions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to high-temperature resistant, rigid, but flexible and low density foamed cellular material comprised of polyester blend consisting of from about 80 to about 98 weight percent of high viscosity polyethylene terephtalat (I.V.=1.0-1.9 dl/g) and from about 2 to about 20, preferably to about 5, weight percent of polycarbonate with average MW higher than 4000 g/mol.

Abstract: The invention relates to an insulating material in the form of plates or tubes, comprising a layer of expanded rubber (11). The main surface (12) of said layer is the surface which comes into contact with an object to be insulated, and a protective layer is adhesively connected (16) to the opposite main surface (13) of said layer. In order to increase the flame resistance, said protective layer consists of a mat-shaped glass fibre material (14) which is externally coated by a metal or a polymer (15).
