    Abstract: An installation for transferring thermal energy from a first flowing medium to a second flowing medium, or vice versa. The installation comprises a first heat exchanger (10), a second heat exchanger (11) and a compression refrigerator (12), it being possible to exchange thermal energy in the first heat exchanger (10) between the first flowing medium and a coolant of the compression refrigerator (12) and to exchange thermal energy in the second heat exchanger (11) between the coolant and the second flowing medium, with the result that one of the two flowing mediums can be cooled and the other can be heated.
