  • Patent number: 5223811
Abstract: Electromagnetic relay having a sealed housing. The relay has a housing with a cap and a bottom part. The region of the bottom part under the coil winding has a bottom section that is set back in height, as a result whereof the space between the coil flanges and under the winding also becomes accessible from the outside when the relay is attached to a printed circuit board. The bottom part may potentially have cup-shaped bellied portions as an envelope for the coil flanges. The joining seam between the at least partially height-offset bottom part and the shortened cap is upwardly displaced in this way from the lower terminating plane at least to the lower apex of the coil winding. The relay housing can be sealed with casting resin in this joining plane, whereby clearances in the lower terminating plane of the housing as well as in the height-offset joining plane can be sealed in common using a capillary system.

  • Patent number: 5194694
Abstract: To seal the gaps and openings in the housing of an electrical component, the outside wall of the base of the housing is provided with filling reservoirs from which lead distributing channels leading to sealing locations to be sealed by sealing compound. The distributing channels are subdivided into sub-channels by centrally extending distributing ribs so that the sub-channels provide an increased capillary action for sealing compound deposited into the filling reservoirs.

  • Patent number: 4907126
Abstract: The housing cap comprises a bevel at one of its upper corners, a rib corresponding to the original housing contour projecting out of this bevel. An aeration channel that is initially closed toward the outside is situated in this rib, this aeration channel being capable of being opened from obliquely above with a diagonal cutting nipper after the washing of the relay on the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4870378
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay includes an elevated measuring point provided on an armature, the measuring point being applied to a rivet which fastens the contact spring to the armature. A flat sensor contacts the elevated measuring point to undertake precise measurement of the force-path characteristic of the armature. A method for manufacturing the relay is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4810831
Abstract: A housing suitable for an electrical or electronic component such as a relay, including a wall having apertures (5, 6) and gaps (7) wherein distribution ribs running on the outside form with the housing surface a sharp inner edge (10). Due to these sharp inner edges, capillary action of the sealing compound is developed on the distribution ribs whereby the sealing compound is transported from a dispensing site to the apertures (5, 6) and housing gaps (7).
