  • Patent number: 5071365
Abstract: A cable connector clamping connector comprises a plastics housing consisting of at least two elements having integrated therein a contact blade for contacting the ends of cable conductors which have been pushed into the housing. After inserting the cable conductors, the housing halves can be pushed together to lock, applying to the cable conductors the force necessary to press them into the contact blades for contacting. In order to make it possible for the user to check the depth of insertion in order to be certain that contacting is guaranteed in every case and with which, at the same time, a catch effect with respect to the outlet direction of the conductors is achieved, a resistance element, in the form of a plastics tongue, for tangibly signalling the depth of insertion of the cable conductor into the housing is provided in the effective insertion channel of each cable conductor, behind the contact blade in the direction of insertion.

  • Patent number: 4884453
Abstract: A strain gauge comprised of a premagnetized ferromagnetic film wherein any change in length of the film can be measured by employing the properties of magnetostriction and magnetoresistance. The strain gauge is deposited on a substrate by thin-film techniques and has a very high sensitivity. Preferably, two electrically insulated strips parallel strips of amorphous metal film have (in the absence of strain) respective directions of magnetization aligned antiparallel to one another and are connected electrically at one end. Such an arrangement facilitates the reversion of the magnetization back to its easy direction when the stress causing the strain is removed.

  • Patent number: 4839391
Abstract: A single stage methanization reactor and process are made to yield a product gas of high methane content as well as useful superheated steam without overheating the catalyst bed in which a synthesis gas containing, CO, CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2 is converted into product gas. A variety of dispositions of vaporizer and superheater portions of the cooling system in the catalyst bed, for which the temperature profiles of gas and coolant along the reactor length are shown and compared, illustrate the principles governing the cooling system for such a reactor. A small portion of the superheated steam is mixed with preheated synthesis gas for elimination of all or part of the carbon monoxide content before the synthesis gas is introduced into the methanization reactor.

  • Patent number: 4782705
Abstract: A strain gauge comprised of a premagnetized ferromagnetic film wherein any change in length of the film is converted into a planar Hall voltage by employing the property of magnetostriction and the planar Hall effect. Alternately, a change in the length of the film can also be measured as a change in electric conductivity by employing the properties of magnetostriction and magnetoresistance. The strain gauge is deposited on a substrate by thin-film techniques and has a very high sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 4575589
Abstract: The switching contact arrangement contains a support or base (1), above it a layer of at least two tracks approaching each other at an angle, one of which comprises a switching contact surface (11). The other one (13, 13') is divided in the region of the switching contact surfaces (11) and their track sections, so that a space is formed there. An insulating layer is provided in the region of the track intersection to be formed. A layer (30) of electrically conductive material is then applied thereto, which has a recess in the region of the switching contact surfaces (11). This layer also serves as a bridge for the track intersection and as a switching contact surface for a switching surface (41 or 43) arranged thereabove and made of a flexible, electrically conductive material. In addition, the electrically conductive layer (30) serves as a spacer for the switching surface (41). A particularly compact switching contact arrangement is provided by integrating the switching contact surface and the bridge.

  • Patent number: 4520228
Abstract: A multi-layer conductor plate consists of a copper-clad base plate (1) on which a first layer of conductor paths (2,3,4; 5,6,7) is formed by applying an etch-resistant, electrically conductive varnish at the respective locations. The copper layers not covered by the etch-resistant varnish are removed by etching in etching bath. Subsequently an insulating varnish layer (16) is applied at least in the area of intersections of conductor paths of the first layer and a second layer. A varnish adapted to be galvanized and preferably being carbonaceous is applied at predetermined locations and subsequently coated with a metal layer applied galvanically.
