  • Patent number: 5198848
Abstract: Processing apparatus for image-wise exposed light-sensitive sheets of the DTR-type, which comprises a trough (11) for processing liquid, a sloping entry guide plate (17) for guiding a sheet towards its deepest point, a pair of outlet rollers (16) for pulling a sheet at a uniform speed through the apparatus and for squeezing liquid from it and replenishing means for keeping a processing liquid in the trough at a controlled level, which apparatus is provided with a floating cover (25) arranged for floating on the free surface of the processing liquid, and means for maintaining between the rear edge of the floating cover and the rear end of the trough a space (41) sufficient to allow unhindered passage of a processed sheet towards the outlet rollers.

  • Patent number: 4514071
Abstract: A coupling device for transmitting torque from a first film transporting rack to a neighboring second film transporting rack in a developing machine has a first shaft extending outwardly from a sidewall of one of the racks, a second shaft which extends outwardly from one sidewall of the other rack and is movable into axial alignment with the first shaft, first and second gears on the respective shafts, and a sleeve having an internal gear which is in permanent mesh with one of the gears and is movable axially into and from mesh with the other gear. The sleeve has internal elastic prongs which extend into a circumferential groove of the shaft for the one gear when the internal gear meshes with the other gear.

  • Patent number: 4498752
Abstract: An arrangement for conveying superimposed photographic sheets into a processing bath includes a pair of cooperating rollers each of which has a central section of reduced diameter. A guide sheet having the shape of an isosceles triangle is arranged downstream of the rollers. The apex of the guide sheet confronts the rollers while the base is remote from and extends parallel to the rollers. A wedge-shaped ledge spans the guide sheet adjacent to the base on either side of the guide sheet. The ledges function to space the superimposed photographic sheets being conveyed. A tongue which initially separates the photographic sheets projects upstream from the apex of the guide sheet and extends between the central sections of the rollers. A part-spherical protuberance is formed on either side of the junction between the tongue and the guide sheet. The protuberances displace the photographic sheets so that the leading edges of the latter do not catch at the corners between the tongue and the guide sheet.

  • Patent number: 4449278
Abstract: A roller for transporting and/or squeezing sheet-like photographic material has a metallic tubular core. The core has a cylindrical central portion of relatively large diameter and a pair of cylindrical ends of smaller diameter which constitute journals for the roller. The journals merge into the central portion via respective conical transition portions which widen in the direction from the corresponding journal to the central portion. The central portion and transition portions are surrounded by an annular coating of rubber or a synthetic resin. The core is produced by swaging the ends of a tube having the same diameter as the central portion of the core so as to form the journals and the transitions portions. The core obtained in this manner is coated by extruding or injection molding a synthetic resin, or by vulcanizing rubber, on to the same. The roller is lightweight, stable and inexpensive to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 4420241
Abstract: A film-treatment device has two spaced and generally parallel mounting plates each having a pair of plate holes and respective pairs of journals in the plate holes having respective journal holes centered on a pair of journal axes. The journal holes of the plates are coaxial with each other and the two journal axes are parallel. Rollers centered on respective roller axes each have a pair of substantially cylindrical end trunnions centered on the respective roller axis and rotatably received in a respective one of the journal holes for rotation of the respective roller therein with its roller axis coaxial with the respective journal axis. The journals of one of the journal axes are constructed so the respective roller can move against spring force limitedly away from the other roller.

  • Patent number: 4363548
Abstract: An arrangement for introducing a band light-sensitive material in daylight from cassettes into a developing device has a receiving part located on a developing device and light-tightly receiving a guide part of cassettes, at least one separating element subdividing the interior of the receiving part into at least two compartments so that a wide cassette can be received into the receiving part in the absence of the separating element or one or two narrow cassettes can be received into one or two compartments of the subdivided receiving part, and a closing element provided in each of the compartments and independently acting for light-tightly closing the respective one of the compartments.

  • Patent number: 4002267
Abstract: A method of mixing at least one chemical concentrate with a thinning fluid to form a predetermined amount of a mixture or solution having a predetermined composition, particularly for use in photographic processing operations. Predetermined amounts of the concentrates are placed into respective holding units. The contents of the holding units are emptied into a mixing conduit which leads to a supply tank while at the same time thinning fluid is passed through the mixing conduit. The flow of thinning fluid through the mixing conduit is terminated when the amount of thinning fluid which has been passed through the mixing conduit reaches the amount corresponding to the predetermined amounts of the initial concentrates and to the predetermined amount of final solution or mixture desired.
