  • Patent number: 5331738
Abstract: The invention relates to a spacer tube of metal, in particular of aluminum, for frame or strut bars of an insulating glazing as spacer or respectively drying agent container between two continuous glass panes, a color stripe being imprinted on the inner wall of the spacer tube visible in the insulating glazing and preferably subsequently gas exchange openings are provided in the inner wall. Further the invention relates to a method for the production of a spacer tube, several color strips being imprinted in side-by-side arrangement on the surface of a metal strip, preferably simultaneously, using a rotary printing mechanism, the paint is dried, and the metal strip is divided longitudinally between the color stripes, and the resulting metal slats are shaped to form spacer tubes and are cut to length.

  • Patent number: 5254377
Abstract: A multilayer insulating glass having at least two panes of glass and a resistance heating element on a glass surface. The panes are separated by a spacer comprising two parallel hollow sections and an insulating web of unfoamed and cured polyurethane casting compound filling the interspace between the hollow sections. The web forms a hard and permanent bond with the hollow sections, creating a spacer having relatively high torsional rigidity and electrical insulation and having relatively low thermal conductivity.

  • Patent number: 5000996
Abstract: Filler material for placement in spacer elements of window glass. A length of flexible tubing has sections filled with a pourable absorption filler material, and has other sections empty of absorption material. The sectioned tube can be cut to the desired length without loss of absorption material if the tube is cut in the area of an unfilled tube section. If the separation point lies in the area of a filled tube section, then only a minor loss of the filler material in that tube section takes place. The loss of absorption material thus is avoided or significantly reduced.

  • Patent number: 4597232
Abstract: A curved corner bent from a hollow-profile construction to form a spacer frame of an insulating glazing, where an opening is provided in the inner wall and in the side walls of the hollow-profile construction in the corner zone, so that a free transverse edge on one side of the opening clamps over a free end portion on an opposite side of the opening when the hollow-profile construction is bent at a right angle to form the curved corner, and a process for the production of the corner, in which the opening is a rectangular cut-out into the inner wall and U-shaped cut-outs cut into the side walls, where the side walls are braced during the bending in such a way that the free transverse edge is guided onto the free end portion to provide flat side surfaces on the curved corner after the bending thereof.

  • Patent number: 4576841
Abstract: An improved desiccant package for use with double-glazed windows. The desiccant material is disposed in discrete islands of desiccant material, between a pair of elongate sheets of flexible material. The sheets are joined together to contain the desiccant within the joined sheets, and to prevent the desiccant from migrating away from the individual islands. Both sheets are impermeable to the desiccant, but at least one of the sheets is substantially permeable to moisture. The desiccant package is disposed within an elongate tubular spacing member for fitting between the two panes of a double-glazed window. The spacer member has a longitudinal side which faces the air space between the two panes of the double glazing, and this longitudinal side is perforated to allow the atmosphere inside the double glazing to communicate with the desiccant package within the spacer tube.
