  • Patent number: 5927639
Abstract: A yarn delivery device for textile machines, with at least one drivable yarn storage drum, which is mounted for rotation about an at least approximately vertical axis, and which is fed tangentially via a yarn feed guide element, and from which a yarn is tangentially taken off by means of a yarn takeoff guide element, wherein at least a further yarn storage drum is arranged in series to the first yarn storage drum, and each of the yarn storage drums has at least one turn of yarn.

  • Patent number: 5820047
Abstract: A yarn delivery device with a yarn storage drum that is mounted to be driven rotatably about an approximately vertical axis. The yarn storage drum has an upper portion with a frustroconical yarn take-up region that is adjoined by an essentially cylindrical yarn storage region with a bead-free lower edge. A yarn is guided tangentially onto the yarn take-up region of the yarn storage drum by a yarn feed guide element, and is taken off from the yarn storage region tangentially by a yarn take-off guide element. The yarn take-off guide element is arranged with respect to the yarn storage region such that the yarn is taken off at least at a spacing from the lower edge of the yarn storage region that corresponds to the distance of the yarn along the vertical axis of the yarn storage drum between an entry and an exit of the yarn on the cylindrical yarn storage region.

  • Patent number: 4165048
Abstract: A thread-supply arrangement for use in textile-manufacturing machines includes an accumulating drum which is mounted on a shaft and is to be selectively driven, together with other accumulating drums, when the shaft thereof is driven in rotation by an advancing belt or the like. A single pulley is mounted on the shaft for joint rotation therewith and for selected displacement longitudinally of the shaft between a plurality of positions in different ones of which different advancing belts are trained about the single pulley. Lifting rollers lift the respective advancing belt from the pulley to enable the latter to assume a different one of the positions thereof. Each belt which is then not being trained about the pulley, may be supported on a guiding roller mounted on an arm endwise received in an aperture of the support on which the shaft is mounted.

  • Patent number: 4102509
Abstract: A main array of main rods parallel to and centered on a fixed main axis is supported for rotation about this main axis. Similarly a skew array of skew rods substantially parallel to and centered on a skew axis extending at an acute angle to the main axis is supported for rotation about the skew axis with the skew rods interleaved with the main rods. At least one of the arrays of rods is carried on a support formed between the rods with throughgoing holes in which are loosely received the free ends of the other array of rods. Thus when either of the arrays of rods is rotated about its respective axis the free ends will operatively engage the support at these holes and rotationally entrain the other array, thereby rotating the main and skew arrays so as to define relatively inclined main and skew orbits. A filament is fed tangentially to the orbits and withdrawn tangentially therefrom, after being urged axially along these orbits by their relative inclinations.

  • Patent number: 4017038
Abstract: At least two yarn-guiding eyelets are coaxially arranged one above the other, so that the yarn travels through the center passage of at least the lower eyelet. Located between the two eyelets is a spherical member which straddles the upper open end of the passage in the lower eyelet and has freedom of movement laterally of the space which is defined between the two eyelets, but is prevented from falling out of this space by the presence of the upper eyelet.

  • Patent number: 3990270
Abstract: A circular knitting machine comprises a rotatable knitting needle cylinder which carries a plurality of knitting needles through knitting stations. A needle-moving jack is pivotally connected with each of the knitting needles and is movable in a needle-raising stroke and a needle-lowering stroke to effect needle raising and lowering, respectively. Each of the needle-moving jacks has a butt thereon which is received in a cam track which operates to effect the raising and lowering of the needle-moving jack. A mechanism is provided for controlling the operation of each knitting needle as it progresses through the stations. The mechanism specifically effects pivoting of the needle-moving jack so that the butt thereon is removed from the cam track. The means which effects the pivoting movement of each needle-moving jack comprises a movable selector jack which cooperates with the needle-moving jack and effects the pivoting movement of the needle-moving jack in response to actuation of electromagnetic means.
