The first medical device and/or the authentication apparatus is configured to communicate with the authentication server unit to perform authentication of the first medical device. Upon successful authentication of the first medical device, the authentication server unit is configured to enable the first medical device with a user-specific use level based on user data.

Abstract: A system and method for establishing a secure communication connection between at least one medical device and a network. The system includes a first communication channel and at least one second communication channel out of a plurality of second communication channels. The method includes the steps of sending a connection request by the at least one medical device to a control unit, registering the at least one medical device via the first communication channel in the network, and encoding and establishing the communication connection via the at least one second communication channel from the plurality of second communication channels. The at least one second communication channel is selected depending on the data type and/or prioritization of data.

Abstract: A drug management system and a method for providing a specific medication at a medical device. The system includes a central drug database and at least one external, decentral medical device. A drug prescription can be input preferably manually via an input interface, and an appropriate drug dataset can be retrieved for the medical device and supplied to the medical device. The central drug database includes a plurality of drug datasets for the medical device. The central drug database is configured to match and validate the drug prescription with the plurality of drug datasets and prepare the prescription so as to only implement the drug dataset corresponding to the drug prescription from the central drug database in the medical device during use of the medical device.

Abstract: A medical device includes a data transfer system with a transmitter device designed to send a data stream. At least one receiver device receives the data stream, and at least one transfer device transfers the data stream from the transmitter device to the receiver device. The transmitter device divides the data stream into individual data packets with a predetermined format. The receiver device includes a completeness checking mechanism that receives the individual data packets in the predetermined format and ensures the completeness of the data stream.

Abstract: A validation system includes at least one medical device for connection to a patient. Both the medical device and the patient have at least one identification marker. The validation system also has an identification device with a display that is configured to read the identification markers. The validation system further includes a server that communicates with the at least one medical device and the identification device. The server assigns the at least one medical device to a corresponding patient according to an assignment process. A reviewer reviews the assignment in a reviewing process that is independent of the assignment process. A method ensures that at least one item of patient information and/or location information is assigned to at least one medical device and that the assignment is reviewed.
