  • Publication number: 20100012438
Abstract: Immobilizer for shopping trolleys, wherein the castor angle of the steering rollers when the immobilizer is activated is equal to zero, as a result of which the steering rollers can set themselves stochastically to an oblique or transverse position with respect to the direction of travel, making the shopping trolley much more difficult to push.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20090315691
Abstract: To generally prevent people from being able to take out and move shopping carts from shopping cart parking areas at times when the store is not open, the blocking devices on the shopping carts are activated when the shopping carts are parked in shopping cart parking areas when the store is not open.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: December 24, 2009
    Inventors: Horst Sonnendorfer, Franz Wieth
  • Publication number: 20090283370
Abstract: Immobilizer for shopping trolleys which is activated and deactivated by means of magnetic forces, in which lower forces are required to deactivate the immobilizer than to activate it. This makes it possible for the immobilizer to be deactivated both by a “strong” magnetic strip, such as is used for activation, and by a “weak” magnetic strip. The “strong” magnetic strip is located at the boundary of the permissible region, and one or more “weak” magnetic strips are located within the permissible region in order to activate immobilizers which are located within the permissible region and are still activated for some reason or another.

  • Patent number: 7579967
Abstract: A method and a system for detecting and rewarding the returning of shopping carts to the supermarket collection points is provided. During shopping, a first signal A is generated. When a shopping cart is returned, a signal B is generated. These two signals A and B are correlated either in the supermarket or in an information device that the customer carries with him or her, in order to deliver a reward for returning the shopping cart. When the first signal A is generated, the customer or an information device carried with the customer is identified. Alternatively, the signal is provided to the customer at the supermarket checkout so that the customer himself/herself can take steps for the correlation of the signal A with the signal B that is still to be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20080116033
Abstract: The invention relates to a trolley comprising an element for holding and releasing a token, said element comprising a sensor that detects whether the trolley comprising the element for holding and releasing the token is pushed inside another trolley. If this is the case, the element for holding and releasing the token activates the immobiliser and releases the token. In order to use the trolley, a token must be inserted into the element for holding and releasing the token, thus deactivating the immobiliser.
