  • Patent number: 5437135
Abstract: A diagonal strut for a system for the construction of arrangements used for mounting workpieces on machine tool tables in a defined and reproducible position. The system includes a base plate and receiving members connected to each other by the diagonal strut. The base plate and the receiving members have connecting bores whose axes are arranged spaced from each other at unit spacings. The diagonal strut has transverse connecting bores whose axes are spaced apart at a distance which corresponds to five times the unit spacing or a multiple thereof. Two end faces are arranged at each end of the diagonal strut. The end faces extend at a right angle relative to each other and one of the end faces includes an angle of 36.87.degree. with a centerline extending through the axes of the transverse connecting bores and the other end face includes an angle of 53.13.degree. with the centerline.

  • Patent number: 4934670
Abstract: The magnetic chuck for chucking or raising workpieces has differently poled (S and N) magnetic pole pieces (1), between which is located a pole pitch (2) of non-ferromagnetic material. In order to make the magnetic chuck more universally usable for workpieces made from non-magnetizable or weakly magnetizable material, it is additionally constructed as a vacuum chuck. This is brought about by correspondingly differently designed bores or slots, which are preferably filled with sintered metal and by means of which the vacuum is applied through corresponding vacuum lines. Due to the fact that the magnetic force and/or the force applied by the vacuum is available as a retaining or holding force, a universal use of the same tool is possible and simultaneously a considerable holding force can be applied.

  • Patent number: 4886257
Abstract: A system for the assembly of devices for fixing workpieces to machine tool tables, including a base plate, which can be fixed to the machine tool table, or the like. Fitting holes are formed in the base plate with regular coordinate spacings. In the base plate, in a plane at right angles to the fitting holes, are formed preferably intersecting cross holes, whose diameter corresponds to that of the fitting holes. Nuts for the fitting screws are inserted both in the cross holes and the fitting holes, in order to fix mounting parts to the base plate. The cross-section of each nut corresponds to that of each cross and fitting hole. The mounting parts are preferably provided with cross and fitting holes similar in arrangement to the base plate.

  • Patent number: 4722564
Abstract: An apparatus for clamping workpieces made from varied materials and complicated shapes comprises a body and clamping member, which are formed by adhesive films which can be used a number of times. These adhesive films can be moved from a position above the clamping surface of the body into a position below the clamping surface. In the first position, the workpiece is e.g. reliably fixed by pressing down. The adhesive film is then lowered into the plane of the clamping surface, so that the workpiece rests thereon and is reliably and firmly supported there for machining purposes. The adhesive film simultaneously secures the workpiece in the machining position. When machining is ended, the adhesive film is lowered beneath the plane of the clamping surface, so that the adhesive connection can be broken and the workpiece removed. The adhesive film can be moved mechanically, e.g. by an eccentric drive, or alternatively by a hydraulic or pneumatic mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4572028
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a continuously variable gear device for converting a rotary motion into a linear motion which is dependent on the angle of rotation. The gear device comprises a swivel arm which is rotatable about a fulcrum and is attached to a guide structure on the input and output sides, respectively, of the gear device. Each guide structure is provided with a sliding member to which strings are attached. The swivel arm has guide slots formed on either side of the fulcrum and each guide structure has a roller bearing which engages one of the slots. The mutual distance between the two guide structures is adjustable, by moving one of the guide structures along a positioning rail to vary the transmission ratio of the device.

  • Patent number: 4155637
Abstract: An apparatus for developing diazo material according to a semi-dry process comprising an applicator roll with a liquid absorbing cover, a press roll having a grooved hard surface, a backing roll biased against the press roll, and a blade for reducing the amount of developer liquid on the applicator roll and the press roll. The press roll is displaceable toward the applicator roll. The plane of transport of the diazo material to be developed passes between the applicator roll and the press roll. The axial moment of inertia of the press roll relative to the axial moment of inertia of the applicator means is determined in accordance by an equation containing weight components of the press roll, weight components of the applicator roll, the contact pressure component of the backing roll, and the sum of the components of the tangential force and normal force of the contact pressure of the blade and the frictional force along the line of contact of the blade on the applicator roll.
