  • Patent number: 11826216
Abstract: An exemplary dental composite blade includes a mounting portion and a tool portion. The tool portion may extend between a proximal end and a distal end along an arcuate tool path defined within a transverse plane. The tool portion further includes a proximal section adjacent the proximal end, a distal section adjacent the distal end, an intermediate section between the proximal and distal sections, and first and second lateral edges disposed on opposing sides of the transverse plane. The lateral edges are each preferably convex at the proximal section with respect to the transverse plane, and concave at the intermediate section with respect to the transverse plane. The mounting portion may include an elongated mounting slot for receiving a blade retention element of a blade holder. Particular embodiments of the dental composite blade may include one or more securement flaps for auxiliary engagement of the blade holder.

  • Publication number: 20220168081
Abstract: An exemplary hands-free dental suction and retraction device includes a spray capture element, at least one oral partition element, at least one lateral suction tube, and a retraction shroud. The spray capture element may be curved around a longitudinal axis. The spray capture element may define a suction passageway therein and have a plurality of suction apertures each extending between the suction passageway and an outer ambient zone. The outer ambient zone may be defined between the spray capture element and the longitudinal axis. The oral partition elements have one or more suction perforations. An inner ambient zone is defined between the oral partition element and longitudinal axis. The lateral suction tube may be in fluid communication between the suction perforations and the suction passageway. The retraction shroud may extend about the longitudinal axis and be axially disposed at least between the spray capture element and the oral partition element.

  • Publication number: 20220061972
Abstract: An exemplary hands-free dental suction device includes an oral partition element, a suction interface portion, a first suction tube and an aerosol capture shroud. The suction interface portion is placeable in fluid communication with a suction source. The first suction tube may have a partition interface attached to the oral partition element, and may extend in fluid communication between the partition interface and the suction interface portion. The aerosol capture shroud may have an aerosol inlet end and an aerosol discharge end. The aerosol inlet end may be larger than the aerosol discharge end, which may thereby give the aerosol capture shroud a flared shape. The aerosol capture shroud may be affixed to an external surface of the first suction tube. The first suction tube may include an intermediate suction port by which the aerosol discharge end is in fluid communication with the first suction tube.

  • Patent number: 8784375
Abstract: A safety carpule system with integral retractable needle includes a piston element disposed between a needle hub assembly and a plunger element, each being axially slideable within a cylindrical housing. A medication-filled fluid chamber is defined between the plunger element and the piston element. The piston element is forced to into a fluid release position by way of an increase in fluid pressure within the fluid chamber, which in turn is caused by actuation of the plunger element toward the needle hub assembly by way of a syringe plunger rod. When the piston element is in fluid release position, the medication is able to flow from the fluid chamber through the needle as the syringe plunger rod is further compressed. Once the carpule system is spent, the piston element is latchably engaged by both the needle hub assembly and the plunger element, thus allowing the needle to be fully retracted into the housing upon return of the syringe plunger rod to its extended position.
