Patent number: 6667462Abstract: An electric hair waver includes a handle and a clip. The clip is hinged to the handle and forms a clamp with the handle by means of the spring. A sealed lower semi-barrel is fixed on the forward end of the handle. An upper semi-barrel and the clip are all hinged to the handle, and the clip is also joined with the upper semi-barrel by a flexible connection. A heater that is connected to the power cord is installed respectively inside the upper semi-barrel and lower semi-barrel, and the front of them links with the lower temperature head through the insulation sheath. The flexible connection includes a strip keyhole with a large circle that locates on the clip and a joint-pin fitted on the upper semi-barrel that matches the strip keyhole. The push button fixed on the handle is connected to the joint-pin through a drawbar, and there is reset spring between the push button and the handle. The hair waver can heat hair uniformly and permanently set not only curled hair, but also straight hair.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2002Date of Patent: December 23, 2003Assignee: Hexagear Industries LimitedInventor: Hou On Lo

Publication number: 20030084586Abstract: An air diffuser produces a massage effect by concentrating air flow through openings in a rotating valve disc. The valve disc includes vanes which, when acted on by air flow through the diffuser, impart a rotational movement to the valve disc. Air passing through the valve disc openings is further concentrated by tapered air outflow nozzles before being directed onto the head of a user. The rotating pattern of air pressure massages the user's head.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2001Publication date: May 8, 2003Inventor: Hou On Lo

Patent number: 6279464Abstract: A cooking appliance (100) comprising a housing (10) providing a cooking chamber (12), a cooking mechanism associated with the cooking chamber (12) for cooking food therein, and a peltier unit (20) arranged to alter the temperature of the interior of the cooking chamber (12). The peltier unit (20) comprises a peltier device (30) having first and second metal parts which form a junction therebetween and are associated with the interior and exterior of the cooking chamber (12) respectively. In a cooling mode, the peltier device (30) is operable to, upon the passage of an electrical current across the junction in one direction, absorb heat by the first metal part and liberate heat by the second metal part, such that the interior temperature of the chamber (12) may be lowered to facilitate the storage of perishable food.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2000Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Assignee: Front Direction Industrial LimitedInventors: Hou On Lo, Yee Koo Chen

Patent number: 4870250Abstract: A reversible crimper-straightener for hair including a handle, a pair of pivoted clamp halves secured to the handle, a pair of reversible plates, each plate including a crimping surface on one side thereof and a flattening surface on the opposite side thereof, a heater within at least one of the plates, and tracks and rails on the plates and the clamping halves for securing one of the plates within one of the clamp halves and the other of the plates within the other of the clamp halves. The plates are reversible so that, alternatively, the crimping surfaces or the straightening surfaces face and are proximate to one another.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: Conair CorporationInventors: Leandro P. Patent number: 4837892Abstract: A cushioned handle structure for use in personal care appliances including two plastic understructure halves having outer and inner surfaces, each half having a plurality of holes running between the two surfaces. An elastomeric material is integrally formed as an overlay in contact with the outer surface and is integrally continued as plugs in the holes so that the overlay is held in position in contact with the outer surface by the plugs. The holes may be undercut proximate to the inner surfaces or be continued as channels on the inner surfaces to provide greater integrity.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1988Date of Patent: June 13, 1989Assignee: Conair CorporationInventor: Hou-On Lo
