  • Publication number: 20240119175
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for anonymizing unstructured data. In some implementations, a server can receive unstructured data. The server can automatically detect attributes in the unstructured data using a trained machine-learning model and can determine an amount of undetected attributes and detected attributes in the unstructured data. The server can simulate additional attributes for the unstructured data according to the amount of undetected attributes. The server can analyze a risk of disclosure in the unstructured data using the detected attributes and the simulated additional attributes. The server can modify the detected attributes according to the analyzed risk of disclosure and replace the detected attributes with the modified detected attributes in the unstructured data.

  • Patent number: 6771212
Abstract: A method of recalibrating a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver includes applying a first control signal to an oscillator for generation of an oscillator signal having an initial frequency and determining if an indicator of correct oscillator output frequency is present at the initial frequency. If an indicator of correct oscillator output frequency is not present, then iterative steps are followed until an indicator of correct oscillator output frequency is found. The iterative steps include: applying a new adjusted control signal to the oscillator for generation of a new frequency; determining whether an indicator of correct oscillator frequency is present; and if an indicator of correct oscillator output frequency is present with the oscillator having the new frequency, storing said adjusted control signal. If an indicator of correct oscillator frequency is present with the oscillator output signal having said initial frequency, then storing said initial control signal.

  • Patent number: 5884883
Abstract: An improved hand-held bowl lifter for safely lifting and transporting hot bowls from one area to another. The bowl lifter is used with bowls having a circular base, and a wall that tapers outward from the base in substantially circular cross-section. The bowl lifter is defined by a generally planar rigid board having a first end adapted to be grasped by a user, and a second end having a semi-circular opening that intersects an edge of the second end to define a pair of arms. The ends of the arms are separated by a dimension less than the diameter of the opening but greater than the diameter of the bowl base. A user grasps the first end of the board and moves it toward the bowl, allowing the arms to surround the base of the bowl adjacent the underlying support surface. Then the user raises the board so that the inner periphery of the arms evenly contact the outer periphery of the bowl. At this point the bowl is supported in an level and stable manner, and may be safely transported.

  • Patent number: 5857686
Abstract: An improved horse drawn sulky for harness racing, which is inexpensive to manufacture, and which compensates for the lateral forces caused by banking of the track and turning. The frame of the sulky is formed so that the wheel on the outside of the track is forwardly offset relative to the wheel on the inside of the track. In addition, the frame affords each wheel a camber which more nearly aligns the wheels with the surface of the track. The simple offset design improves traction on a banked track and improves tracking in turns.

  • Patent number: 5684876
Abstract: A method of encrypting clear payload data to form encrypted payload data uses a block cipher, the block cipher being characterized by a predetermined block length. The method includes a step of parsing and first and second steps of encrypting. The step of parsing parses the clear payload data into at least one full clear block and a residual block, the at least one full clear block including a last full clear block. Each full clear block is characterized by the predetermined block length. The residual block is characterized by a residual block length, the residual block length being less than the predetermined block length. The step of parsing further parses the last full clear block into a first part and a second part, the second part being characterized by a length equaling a difference between the predetermined block length and the residual block length.

  • Patent number: 3961417
Abstract: A machine for winding electrical coils from thin strip or ribbon, having a spindle on which the conductor is wound. A welding device welds intermediate or final terminations to the strip with predetermined spacing. The welding unit is mounted movably in relation to the winding spindle. Means are provided for precisely rotating the winding spindle and consistently stopping it at a fixed position. Means are provided for measuring precisely the length of one turn or known portion thereof so as to locate and weld the connection at a point that will cause it to fall in the required place when the connection has been wound onto the coil.

  • Patent number: 3942760
Abstract: This invention relates to a water tap in which a screw threaded valve member is operated by a handle. Between the handle and valve member there is an intermediate member which is snapped into the valve housing and transmits rotary motion from the handle to the valve member. The handle is removably connected to the intermediate member and is arranged to overlie the intermediate member so as to conceal it and retain it in snap fit engagement with the valve body.
