  • Publication number: 20230126674
Abstract: Technology is described to provide a foot and ankle prosthesis for individuals with lower limb loss. This technology is able to store and release energy and individuals or patients who are using the foot/ankle prosthesis may be able to expend less energy when walking. The system includes a hydraulic damper attached to dynamic energy storing spring elements. The axis of rotation of the system can be near to that of an intact human ankle, providing biomimetic function. The system can utilize spring elements based on the vertical displacement of the center of pressure of an intact normal foot. A hydraulic system can provide user adjustable heel height and adaptation to inclines. The dorsiflexion and plantar flexion resistances can be independently adjusted manually or electrically. In addition, the system can be automatically locked in dorsiflexion when loaded and unlock when unloaded.

  • Publication number: 20050039736
Abstract: An apparatus that propels a ball pneumatically is provided with an adapter for imparting spin to the ball. In a further aspect, the apparatus can be provided with a position adjuster that cooperates with a ball exit tube of the apparatus. A further aspect is directed to a platform that allows the apparatus to be supported on a ladder-like device. A pneumatic projectile propulsion apparatus is capable of achieving high speed with a simple and practical structure.

  • Patent number: 4055223
Abstract: A corner tooth assembly, for an earthmoving implement having an upright sidewall and a cutting edge disposed in laterally extending relation from the sidewall, includes a corner tooth adapter having a hollow rearward portion secured to a lower forward outside surface of the sidewall and a nose portion extending forwardly of the sidewall, and a replaceable wear tip mounted on the nose portion of the adapter protectingly beyond the implement so that loads on the tip during forward movement of the implement are transmitted through the adapter directly rearwardly to the sidewall without affecting the cutting edge.

  • Patent number: 3989118
Abstract: A battery support for use in a vehicle permitting the battery to be selectively disposed in an installed position and a service position. The support includes a carrier having wheels engaging a track carried by a base portion of the support for facilitating movement of the carrier and battery between the installed and service positions. Stops are provided for limitin the movement of the carrier to the preselected desired positions and structure is provided for stabilizing the carrier and battery in the installed position to prevent rattling and moving of the battery therein. The structure is arranged to accommodate extension of the battery cables about the rear of the battery so as to permit facilitated selective movement of the battery to and from the service position.
