  • Patent number: 11503101
Abstract: A process of assigning video analytics tasks to computing devices. In operation, an electronic computing device obtains predicted scene data associated with a scene corresponding to which video data is to be captured at a particular time period using a video camera. The electronic computing device then estimates, based on the predicted scene data, an edge computing cost to be incurred to complete execution of a video analytics task at one or more edge computing devices and a cloud computing cost to be incurred to complete execution of the same video analytics task at one or more cloud computing devices. If the edge computing cost is lower than the cloud computing cost, then the electronic computing device assigns the video analytics task to the edge computing devices. Otherwise, then the electronic computing device assigns the video analytics task to the cloud computing devices.

  • Publication number: 20070213016
Abstract: One of the most asked question in the TV room of most household is “Where's the remote?” Remote Controls for a TV, DVD, VHS, etc. are very often misplace. When the user removes the Remote Control from this invention (the Remote Control Holder with Speaker Activation), internal control circuitry is activated starting a software timer and lighting a LED to let the user know that the control circuitry is active. If the user replaces the Remote Control in the Remote Control Holder with Speaker Activation before the software timer reaches a predetermined time, the control circuitry's software timer is reset and the control circuitry goes into standby (to sleep). However if the user doesn't return the Remote Control to the Remote Control Holder with Speaker Activation, a brief sound (beep) or one of a plurality of voice sayings are played and will periodically repeat until the user replaces the Remote control or m the power switch off.

  • Patent number: 5924345
Abstract: A method for precisely perforating an opening in footwear by positioning the footwear on a foot form with the outsole facing upward, supporting the vamp area of the footwear by a V-shaped support, clamping the rear section of the footwear to stabilize the footwear and moving the footwear upwardly against the die under pressure so that an opening is perforated in the heel area of the footwear. The apparatus includes a shuttle member on which the foot form, the V-shaped support and the clamp are carried. The clamp is activated when the shuttle is moved to contact a limit switch. The footwear is caused to be moved upwardly against the die under pressure upon the operator activating a switch.
