    Abstract: A base structure for a piling foundation is provided. The base structure includes an upper plate and a lower plate. The lower plate is spaced a distance below the upper plate and is oriented substantially parallel to the upper plate. Both the upper plate and the lower plate include a number of plate apertures therethrough. The upper plate and the lower plate are connected to each other by webs configured to provide structural integrity to the base structure. Further, a piling foundation assembly for supporting operating equipment and a method for installing a piling foundation assembly are provided.

    Abstract: A foundation pile installation system includes a hollow foundation pile having a pair of cooperating tapered drive pin slots at its top end and a pair of drive pin holes spaced below and aligned with the drive pin slots, first and second drive pins, a drive head having a drive collar and a flared lid, the drive collar having top and bottom drive pin holes, the drive collar for insertion in the top end of the pile in an assembled configuration in which the first drive pin inserted in the top drive pin holes of the drive collar is received in the drive pin slots of the pile and the second drive inserted in the bottom drive pin holes of the drive collar is received in the drive pin holes of the pile to secure the drive head to the pile, the tapered drive pin slots guiding the first drive pin into the slots as the drive head is inserted in the pile.

    Abstract: A sacrificial tip and method of installing a friction pile within the ground includes a connective plate to attach to a friction pile, a smaller diameter pipe extending from the plate, and a plurality of gussets and a helical flight secured to the pipe. The pipe projects generally perpendicularly from the connective plate toward a penetrative aspect and the plurality of gussets are secured to and project radially outwardly from the pipe, and extend longitudinally along the pipe tapering radially inwardly from the connective plate toward the penetrative aspect. The helical flight is secured about the pipe and spirals longitudinally toward the penetrative aspect. The connective plate can be secured to the friction pile with the pipe projecting coaxially with the friction pile to define the sacrificial tip for the friction pile.

    Abstract: A helice pier post used for rotating into a ground surface for holding various structural items upright on the top thereof. The structural items may be a light post, a fence post, a building beam or column, a pier, a sound barrier and like items. The helice pier post broadly includes a top mounting plate, a hollow tubular casing, a first pipe shaft with a first helice mounted thereon. The mounting plate is welded to a top portion of the tubular casing. Also, the plate is welded to an upper end of the first pipe shaft. The first pipe shaft is centered inside and disposed along the length of the casing. An outer diameter of the first helice can be welded to an inner diameter of a bottom portion of the casing. A lower end of the first shaft can be coupled to an upper end of the second pipe shaft. A lower end of the second pipe shaft is attached to the second helice.

    Abstract: The invention provides exemplary earth anchors and methods for their use. In one exemplary embodiment an earth anchor comprises and elongate hub having a trailing end and a leading end. At least one blade is attached to the hub, with the plate having a discontinuous circular periphery. The blade is configured such that a continuous circle drawn around the periphery of the blade defines an area. The blade has an area that is less than about 70% of the area of the circle, and the ratio of a path at shear resistance for the blade to the perimeter of this circle is greater than about 90%. Tubular extensions are attached to the hub and poured above the hub to facilitate injection of a low-strength, impermeable non-cementitious chemical grout in order to seal potential paths for water created by installation of the anchor and thereby reducing the risk of increase rate of soil heave in expensive soils.
