  • Patent number: 11962702
Abstract: A biometric identification device may be used to secure passwords and other valuable information. In one implementation, the biometric identification device may be a capacitive fingerprint sensor. Capacitive readings may be used to identify the ridges and valleys of a fingerprint and determine if an object contacting the fingerprint sensor is living tissue. Two-factor identification may be implemented by recognizing the authenticity of biometric inputs and a specific combination or sequence in which the biometric inputs are provided. A user interface is provided in which sequences of biometric inputs are associated with commands. A user may indicate a command by providing a predetermined sequence of fingerprints to a fingerprint scanner.

  • Patent number: 7832015
Abstract: A method for providing a user with access to a plurality of computer resources, at least some of which utilize distinct protocols for receiving security information and for providing access to outside systems based on received security information. A request is received from the user identifying one of the plurality of computer resources. From a set of previously stored records each of which identifies one of the plurality of computer resources and contains security information for allowing access to the computer resource identified in the record, one of the records of the set is selected whose identification of one of the plurality of computer resources best matches the request's identification of one of the plurality of computer resources. The security information in the selected record is used to provide access to the computer resource identified in the request according to the distinct protocol utilized by that resource.

  • Patent number: 6934706
Abstract: An enterprise data integration product which facilitates access to one or more external or remote databases so as to provide integration from a central application. The product enables a user to pre-populate a credential database which stores the user's security credentials for each of the remote databases to which access is desired. When the user requests access to a remote database, the product automatically retrieves the user's security credentials for that database and establishes a connection thereto based on the retrieval credentials. In this manner, the product provides seamless access to the remote database while maintaining the user's pre-ordained access restriction thereto.

  • Patent number: 6003025
Abstract: A database accessing system wherein a data transformer is provided to make it possible to access data between one or more different databases storing and retrieving information in a predetermined and heterogeneous format. The system has one or more data providers for accessing information stored in at least one of the databases, each data provider having a set of predetermined entry points and having a unique identifier assigned. One or more data manipulators are provided which call a particular data provider by its identifier and provides the data provider with the set of predetermined entry points associated with that particular data provider and performs some manipulation on the information provided by the data providers. One or more data transformers are also provided which intercept calls intended by data manipulators for data providers and provide the data manipulator the information requested in the format requested.

  • Patent number: 5746688
Abstract: This invention relates to a portable exercise device for resistance type exercises of all muscles which make up the buttocks, including the gluteus maximus, gluteus minimis, gluteus medius and the piriformis muscles by both hip extension and hip abduction without undue stress on the spine and corresponding musculature. The device has a generally horizontal extending base, a headrest affixed to the base, a resistance bar for pressing against the underside of the thigh of the user which is pivotal to the base. Biasing means is provided for urging the resistance bar to a vertical position with a force which the user can overcome by moving the leg and thigh downward and for moving the resistance bar to a horizontal position. Biasing means is also provided for exerting a force to resist outward movement.
