  • Patent number: 10075469
Abstract: Information can be added to the headers of email messages to ensure the messages are delivered using encryption, without the user having to manage keys or perform the encryption. A user can select an option in an email program that causes a flag to be added to the message header. Each mail server along the delivery path can provide (or expose) information about the type(s) of encryption supported, and if the encryption is not sufficient then the message will not be delivered to that server. This ensures the transport will remain encrypted before delivering the message to the next hop along the path. If the message cannot be delivered encrypted then the message will not be transmitted past that point. An end user then only needs to click a button or perform another such action to ensure encrypted message delivery.

  • Patent number: 9906552
Abstract: System load, such as load caused by a denial of service attack, is managed by requiring those requesting access to the system to provide proof of work. A system receives, from a requestor, a request for access to the system. Before the request can be processed, the system provides a challenge to the requestor. The requestor obtains a solution to the challenge and provides proof of having obtained the solution. The system verifies the correctness of the solution and, if the correct solution is verified, the system services the request.

  • Patent number: 9821614
Abstract: A tire pressure sensor mounting system for mounting a tire pressure sensor directly to a wheel rim. A mounting base is disposed on the wheel rim. A linear rim strap groove is disposed across a top surface of the mounting base. A plurality of side strap through-slots is transversely disposed through the side surfaces of the mounting base. A portion of a rim strap is disposed in the rim strap groove. A first locking mechanism tightly encloses the rim strap around the wheel rim to secure the mounting base on the wheel rim. A portion of a side strap is disposed through the side strap through-slot. A second locking mechanism locks the side strap around the tire pressure sensor to secure the tire pressure sensor on the mounting base.

  • Patent number: 9471533
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media are described for validating objects stored in a web cache. In one embodiment, a computing device caches objects received while accessing networked content over a network. The computing device generates a description of conditions associated with the caching of the objects. When the computing device accesses networked content via a second network, the computing device or a remote server connected thereto utilizes the description to determine whether an object in the cache is trusted or untrusted. The server manages a policy that defines rules for making the determination. The policy can be generated based on descriptions received from a plurality of devices.

  • Publication number: 20140219438
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for obtaining and providing data about a phone call to a representative. A data repository can be used as transient storage while a phone call is ongoing (and possibly for some time afterwards). Data can be retrieved and stored in the data repository, as well as sent to external systems that a representative might use. A data interface can handle communications between the data repository and the external systems in a controlled manner so that exchanges of particular pieces of data can occur efficiently. A graphical user interface (GUI) can be provided for setting up rules for treating a call. The GUI can provide a convenient interface for specifying a mechanism for exchanging data with an external system. A central control can sent voice, data, and control commands across various channels to various devices when processing an incoming call.

  • Patent number: 8398855
Abstract: A waste treatment process comprised of an ammonification system to convert soluble organic nitrogen into ammonia nitrogen, followed by a physico-chemical process to remove a substantial amount of the ammonia as a recovered ammonium sulfate fertilizer or ammonium hydroxide (“aqua ammonia”), and followed by an ammonia oxidation process to oxidize the remaining ammonia from the physico-chemical process. The process reduces ammonia and carbonaceous organic matter to less than 10 mg/l and recovers ammonia in the form of either ammonium sulfate or ammonium hydroxide.

  • Patent number: 6342138
Abstract: An electroplating rack includes a cathode flight bar from which depends an insulated rack bar over an acid bath. A clamp is fixed to the rack bar, and has a bridge electrically connected to the flight bar through a conducting core inside the insulated rack bar. The clamp has a main body made of plastic, which includes a slot in which protrudes the bridge. An electrically conducting spring clip is installed in the slot, and is formed of two arms continuously biased into a spreaded, opened condition in the slot. A screw carried by the main body, when rotated in a first direction, can force the spring clip into a closed condition, in which it can hold an article to be electroplated between its two arms, and in which one of the spring clip arms is forced against the bridge member. Thus, electrical current can pass through the rack flight bar and conducting core, then through the bridge member, the spring clip and finally into the article to be electroplated.

  • Patent number: 5904820
Abstract: The holding clamp of the invention has a first elongated arm and a second shorter arm both being electrically conducting and interconnected in parallel spaced-apart fashion by a transverse pivotal bracket intermediate their lengths. The first elongated arm is fixedly attached at its upper end to a cathode frame bar and downwardly depends therefrom. A lever pivotally attached to the first arm intermediate the cathode bar and the pivotal bracket engage the upper end of the second arm in clamming fashion to forcibly tilt same between a first limit position, in which the lower ends of the two arms are spaced-apart, and a second limit position, in which the arms lower ends abut one another under the action of coil springs. The lower ends of the arm members form a pair of jaws provided with electrically conducting studs engageable axially to one another, the studs and arms lower ends being otherwise enveloped with a fluid-tight and electrically insulating sleeve, except at the studs outer free ends.
