  • Patent number: 5711610
Abstract: Each assembly includes spaced bearings which roll independently of each other on and between confronting, parallel bearing surfaces which form an elongate raceway between a support member and a slide member that reciprocates thereon. Adjacent bearings are separated by coiled compression spring devices which permit the bearings to move relative to one another, but which also provide a minimum separation distance between adjacent bearings. Oil-saturated felt members are located between certain of the bearings to have sliding, wiping engagement with the bearing surfaces; and positioned at each end of an assembly is either a cylindrically shaped plastic end member, or a short keeper strip containing additional rotatable bearings and another oil-saturated felt member.

  • Patent number: 4787074
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an automated library for data storage disks. Such library comprises at least one disk drive, means for storing a large number of disks, and disk transport means for transporting disks between the disk drive and disk-storing means. The disk-transporting means comprises a bi-directional disk picker assembly which operates to convey selected disks into and out of the disk-storing means and disk drive. A movably mounted drive unit functions to rotatably support the disk picker assembly for movement about an axis which is perpendicular to the direction in which disks are conveyed by such assembly, whereby "picked" disks can be flipped 180 degrees to present either side to the disk drive. The picker assembly handles each disk by means of a carrier, a generally rectangular frame which surrounds and releasably captures a disk. The picker mechanism is adapted to handle such carrier in any one of four different orientations.

  • Patent number: 4146313
Abstract: An improved slot load motion picture projector is provided with a cam plate guide assembly connecting the projector control lever with the projector film gate. The cam plate has a cam path formed therein with a cam follower disposed within the cam path. Links connect the cam follower to both the control lever and the film gate. The cam path guide assembly causes the film gate to close during the initial portion of the control lever movement from the load position to the operate position, and causes the film gate to open during the initial portion of the control lever movement from the operate position to the load position.

  • Patent number: 4113368
Abstract: A lower loop restorer for automatically resetting the lower loop of a motion picture projector when the loop is lost. A loop restoring roller, located in the film path, is provided at one end of a pivotable control arm assembly. When the lower loop is lost, the control arm is triggered to cause drive means to pivot the control arm assembly downward and then upward to pull film from the film gate and reset the lower loop. Means are provided to disable or inhibit the operation of the lower loop restoring mechanism when the projector is operated in the reverse projection mode, the in path fast forward mode, or the inpath rewind mode. Means are also provided to protect the film from damage if the lower loop restorer is triggered and film is jammed in the film gate.
