    Abstract: A device used in conjunction with fixation hardware to provide a two-stage process to address the competing needs of immobilization and re-establishment of normal stress-strain trajectories in grafted bone. A method of determining a patient-specific stress/strain pattern that utilizes a model based on 3D CT data of the relevant structures and cross-sectional data of the three major chewing muscles. The forces on each of the chewing muscles are determined based on the model using predetermined bite forces such that a stiffness of cortical bone in the patient's mandible is determined. Based on the stiffness data, suitable implantation hardware can be designed for the patient by adjusting external topological and internal porous geometries that reduce the stiffness of biocompatible metals to thereby restore normal bite forces of the patient.

    Abstract: A method for bit error rate testing a processing unit using a bit error rate tester (BERT) includes transmitting a signal pair to a receiver of the processing unit, the signal pair having jitter levels complying with a jitter threshold, tuning the signal pair to obtain a first stressed eye measurement for the receiver, wherein the first stressed eye measurement complies with a stressed eye mask, placing the processing unit into a loop-back mode, wherein data transmitted to the processing unit by the BERT is transmitted back to the BERT, transmitting a data pattern to the processing unit, receiving a looped back version of the data pattern from the processing unit, and calculating a bit error rate in accordance with the data pattern and the looped back version of the data pattern.

    Abstract: A surfactant composition includes a homogeneous mixture of greater than 70%, by weight, of N-acyl alaninate surfactant of formula (I) and an N-acyl amino acid surfactant of formula (II). A process for preparation of a blend of an N-acyl alaninate surfactant and an N-acyl amino acid surfactant includes combining (a) an alanine amino acid and (b) other amino acid, an anhydrous alkali salt of the other amino acid, or both, a waterless base, and a fatty alkyl ester of formula (V) to form a mixture including alanine amino acid salt of formula (III), and other amino acid salt of formula (IV). The process further includes increasing the temperature of the mixture to 180° C. or less to form a reaction mixture. The process further includes continuously removing alkyl alcohol from the reaction mixture and allowing the reaction mixture to become substantially clear to form the blend.

A process for preparing an N-acyl amino acid surfactant includes combining an amino acid, a waterless base and a fatty alkyl ester of formula (III) to form a mixture that includes an amino acid salt of formula (II). The temperature of the mixture is increased to form a reaction mixture. Alkyl alcohol is removed from the reaction mixture, and the reaction mixture becomes substantially clear.

The networked system accesses walking pace data from the user device, whereby the walking pace data represents a current walking pace of the user and correlates the walking pace data with the environmental condition data. Using the correlated data, the networked system adjusts a parameter in a walking profile of the user. The walking profile is then used to determine time estimates that are used to schedule services that require walking by a user.
