  • Publication number: 20190334758
Abstract: A system, method and program product for implementing a technology platform for managing and visualizing compliance of nodes in a hierarchical network. A disclosed platform includes: a system for interfacing with the network, wherein the network includes an enterprise node that provisions a proprietary resource to a set of broker nodes and a set of provider nodes; a monitoring system that deploys agents to crawl the network to identify and analyze provider nodes that offer the proprietary resource to determine a compliance of each provider node in accordance with a policy; a registration system for authorizing provider nodes within the network; an enterprise database that stores compliance data and authorization data for provider nodes in the network; and a visualization system for visualizing compliance data regarding the provider nodes.

  • Patent number: 6196993
Abstract: An ophthalmic insert and method for sustained release of medication to the eye are provided. The insert includes a body portion sized to pass through a lacrimal punctum and be positioned within a lacrimal canaliculus of the eyelid. The insert further includes a collarette connected to the body portion and sized to rest on the exterior of the lacrimal punctum, the collarette having a pore provided therein. A reservoir is contained at least partially within the body portion and in fluid communication with the pore, wherein the reservoir is designed to store and release medication through the pore and onto the eye over time in a controlled manner while the insert is positioned in the eyelid. Preferably, the pore is constructed with a specific geometry appropriate to control the rate of release of the medication onto the eye.

  • Patent number: 5275161
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for diagnosing the presence and extent of disease activity within a periodontal pocket. A dual electrode probe having a first, working silver electrode and a second, reference silver/silver chloride electrode is inserted into the pocket to take data measurements of the electrochemical potential between the electrodes while they are immersed in the fluid contained in the periodontal sulcus. The strength of the potential reflects the amount of sulfides within the sulcus fluid and reflects the presence and extent of disease therewithin.

  • Patent number: 4952300
Abstract: An ion sensitive electrode device and method of its use in analytical and clinical chemistry are provided for measuring the concentration of an ionizable analyte contained in an aqueous medium. The device with external circuit means includes an electrode pair adapted to be placed in electrochemical contact with the medium. The electrode pair includes a polarographically active base metal/metal oxide working electrode and a reference electrode. The external circuit means is adapted to measure the voltage generated by the electrode pair in open circuit and to measure the closed circuit current flow at a preselected impedance and including means for comparing said voltage and current flow values with predetermined reference standards to provide a third value representative of said analyte concentration.

  • Patent number: 4342964
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a chemical characteristic of a liquid such as its hydrogen ion activity or pH value. A disposable cassette having a reference and indicating electrode therein utilizes the same solution to first calibrate the device and then as an electrolytic bridge from the liquid sample to the reference electrode. The solution has the properties of a buffered pH and also provides a stable electrochemical environment around the reference electrode. In one embodiment, a volume of a liquid sample is placed into a capillary tube and the open end of the tube is then placed over the indicating electrode immersed in the solution. The electrical potential between the indicating electrode and the spaced reference electrode in the electrolyte solution provides a measurement of the pH value of the liquid when compared to the calibration potential previously measured without the liquid sample contacting the indicating electrode.
