  • Patent number: 8195385
Abstract: A real-time path-directed controller is disclosed. The controller is extraordinarily well-suited for navigating a vehicle along a desired path across a field for agricultural applications. The controller comprises several important assemblies. It comprises a position sensor which produces an object position signal to an object position signal conditioning module (which, in turn, produces a conditioned object position signal to a controller summer). The controller also comprises a heading conditioning module for receiving the object position signal and conditioning the object position signal to produce a conditioned heading signal to the controller summer. The controller also comprises a control apparatus sensor for producing a control apparatus signal to a control apparatus signal conditioning module (which, in turn, produces a conditioned control apparatus signal to the controller summer).

  • Patent number: 7801677
Abstract: A real-time path-directed controller for navigating an object along a desired path is disclosed. The controller comprises: a position sensor which contributes to the production of a conditioned object position signal to a controller summer; a heading conditioning module which contributes to the production of a conditioned heading signal to the controller summer; a control apparatus sensor which contributes to the production of a conditioned control apparatus signal to the controller summer; and a control apparatus null position conditioning module which contributes to the production of a conditioned null position signal to the controller summer. The controller summer sums the signals to produce a controller summer signal to a controller summer conditioning module so as to produce a control apparatus control signal to a control apparatus controller so as to direct the control apparatus and thereby direct the object by feedback control along the desired path.

  • Publication number: 20070130913
Abstract: A coaxial propulsion system has a primary propeller, a flow control element to reduce swirl, and a secondary propeller, mounted in series configuration. A connecting shroud directs the combined thrust. Said primary propeller and said secondary propeller may be connected to the same engine, or independent engines for greater reliability and performance. A coaxial jet fan system has a primary fan, a flow control element to reduce swirl, and a secondary fan, mounted in a series configuration. A connecting shroud directs the combined bypass and jet thrust. Further, a secondary shroud provides a primary bypass and a secondary bypass thrust, thereby establishing a greater level of control over the bypass ratio and engine efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20070081888
Abstract: A series fan assembly has a primary fan, a flow modification element to reduce swirl, and a secondary fan, mounted in a series configuration. A connecting sleeve directs the combined output into an enclosure containing components to be cooled, or a heat sink. A sliding drawer is configured within said connecting sleeve to detachably hold said primary fan, said flow modification element, and said secondary cooling fan, allowing for the hot swappable replacement of defective components. A controller is in communication with a power source, said primary fan, said secondary fan, and at least one sensor monitoring the status of each of said primary fan and said secondary fan. Said controller is configured to maintain said combined output above a minimum control level at all times, in the event of the failure of said primary fan or said secondary fan.

  • Publication number: 20070039983
Abstract: An article carrying device is provided for balancing upon a single shoulder of a person. The device includes front and back extended end members having a plurality of clips provided along middle and distal portions of the ends members. The clips secure packages to the article carrying device such that when packages of equal weights are attached to both ends of the carrying device, the device balances upon the shoulder of the person and does not require human hand intervention to maintain its position. The article carrying device is interchangeable and can be employed on either shoulder of the person. A hinge mechanism can be provided at an apex of the device for permitting the collapse of said device for transport or storage when not is use.
