Abstract: A surface mounted panel adapter for a socket mounted electricity meter allows a socket mounted electricity meter to be installed on a switchboard. The surface mounted panel adapter is designed to attach to the back of a switchboard, and to expose a meter socket which is mounted on the front wall of the surface mounted panel adapter and which is exposed through the front wall of the switchboard. A standard socket mounted electricity meter can be mounted in the meter socket through the opening in the switchboard. Electrical connections to the meter socket are made using at least one terminal strip mounted on the rear wall of the panel adapter, and readily accessible to an installer who is behind the switchboard panel.

Abstract: A panel adapter for a socket meter allows a socket mounted electricity meter to be installed in a switchboard. The adapter is designed to attach to the back of the front of a switchboard, and it is substantially in the shape of a rectangular cube having a front wall and a rear wall. A meter socket is mounted to its rear wall, and the front wall has an opening which may have a diameter which is substantially the same as the front of the meter, or, alternatively, which is larger so as to enable a meter to be mounted in its socket through the opening. If the opening is larger than the meter, the adapter may, optionally, include a removable face plate to fill the space left by the larger opening. Embodiments of the panel adapter include data connectors on the rear wall, and adjustable length legs to allow for the installation of meters having differing lengths.

Abstract: A polymer characterised by the presence of ylid linkages in the main polymer chain of formula (A) where the dashed line represents the remainder of a ring system for which the N+ provides a heteroatom, and E is a strongly electron withdrawing group. Preferred polymers in accordance with the invention are characterised by the presence of linkages in the polymer main chain of formula (I). The polymers of the invention may be fabricated as membranes for use in various separation processes, e.g. ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, and reverse osmosis.

Abstract: An improved method and system for scrolling through data are provided. An image viewer is used in conjunction with a scroll bar to allow a user to preview which image will be displayed next on a display device. The scroll bar includes a scroll box which may occupy any of several positions within the scroll bar. When a user grabs the scroll box using a mouse, or other pointer-positioning device, the image viewer displays an image corresponding to the position of the scroll box within the scroll bar. As the user drags the scroll box to different positions within the scroll bar, different images are displayed within the image viewer. When the user drops the scroll box, the final image displayed in the image viewer is displayed on the display device.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the flow rate and pressure of water discharged from a standpipe valve includes a portable tank (10) mounted on wheels (24). A pipe assembly (40), includes a pressure gauge 48), a flow meter (46) and a shut-off valve (44) mounted in series on the tank (40) in fluid flow communication with the tank. A high pressure hose (52) is used to connect the inlet of the pipe assembly (40) to the valve being tested.
