    Abstract: In an axial flow filtering apparatus for filtering oil, having one or more filter elements of the wound tissue type, wherein the oil passes through the filter elements to a collection channel, and then to an outlet port, the improvement comprising a flexible, non-porous membrane, configured to be disposed in a sealing relationship about the circumference of the filter elements, and completely overlapping the collection channel, thereby preventing oil from entering the collection channel from the exterior of the filter elements.
