  • Patent number: 5595019
Abstract: A support for a plant has a rod with at least two spaced apart brackets, the uppermost bracket being proximate the upper end of the rod. One or more cages has means thereon adapted to cooperate with the brackets to connect the cage substantially concentrically about the rod. The depth of the uppermost cage from its top to its connecting means is greater than the distance from the uppermost bracket to the upper end of the rod, so that the top of the uppermost portion of the cage extends significantly above the top of the rod.Preferably, each of the cages has a plurality of substantially horizontal loops fixed in spaced-apart relationship by a plurality of substantially vertical legs. The loops of each cage are substantially circular and each sequentially higher loop preferably has a diameter greater than an immediately preceding loop of the cage.

  • Patent number: 5341593
Abstract: A small spring steel stake is used to support a large tomato plant. The plant is held close to the stake so that the stake supports the plant with its weight pulling substantially straight down along the axis of the stake. Rings are optionally used to support only the branches and not the stem of the plant. Since the tomatoes grow close to the stem, a heavy load of tomatoes adds little weight to the rings. A shade, designed to be installed whenever the gardener decides the time is right, is detachably mounted to the top of the plant support and consists of spaced apart shade members so that rain water captured by the shade members may be directed to the roots of the plant. An optional deck planter adapted to secure the stake in its vertical position facilitates the use of the plant support for urban and even indoor gardening conditions.

  • Patent number: 4811956
Abstract: This is a holder for shotgun pattern paper. The shot pattern of a shotgun is most important to a hunter. This invention provides a way to determine that pattern for any shotgun. A three-part circular or four-part square holder is supported above the ground by two spaced apart support members. The parts are held together by unique clamp. Clips are provided about the periphery of the square or circular ring for holding paper or a cardboard target base with the target printed thereon. A shotgun or rifle is then fired at the target from the selected distance and the pattern of the shot or accuracy of the rifle can be seen on the paper or target base.

  • Patent number: 4762034
Abstract: This is a constrictor wrench which can compensate for a wrench not being the exact fit to match the nut or object which it is to rotate or hold. The wrench has a first jaw and a second jaw with the face of the first jaw modified so that it has a recess which is substantially arcuate in shape and contour. A swinging jaw is provided which has one edge having a contour matching with the contour of the first jaw. The second edge of the swinging jaw is planar. A pressure arm connects the swinging jaw to the first fixed jaw. Biasing means are provided against the pressure arm to force the swinging jaw along the arcuate face of the top jaw away from the mouth of the wrench.
