  • Publication number: 20220088326
Abstract: A component of an electronic vapor provision device with a reservoir for storing source liquid, an atomizer for vaporizing source liquid from the reservoir and delivering vapor into an air flow path through the device, and an electrical power supply for providing electrical power to the atomizer comprises an absorbent element to collect source liquid escaped from the reservoir and located so as to be upstream of the atomizer with respect to an air flow direction along the air flow path when the component is assembled into the electronic vapor provision device.

  • Patent number: 11172706
Abstract: In a method of laser welding, a solid metal component is placed in contact with a porous metal component at an interface region, a laser beam is directed onto the solid metal component to cause heating and melting of one or more portions of the solid metal component in the interface region, and the melted metal portions flow into interstices in the porous metal component and then solidify by cooling such that portions of the porous metal component adjacent the interstices are integrated into the metal of the solid metal component thereby bonding the solid metal component and the porous metal component.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 16, 2021
    Assignee: NICOVENTURES TRADING LIMITED
    Inventor: Howard Rothwell
  • Publication number: 20200000150
Abstract: A method for obtaining a heating element for an electronic vapor provision system includes providing a sheet of electrically conductive porous material, measuring amounts of light transmitted through at least two locations on the sheet to obtain a set of optical transmission values including a maximum value and a minimum value, comparing a difference value calculated from the maximum and minimum values with a predetermined acceptable variation in optical transmission, and selecting the sheet for use as a heating element if the difference value falls within the acceptable variation.

  • Publication number: 20200000149
Abstract: A method for obtaining a heating element for an electronic vapor provision system, the method including providing a sheet of electrically conductive porous material, directing light onto at least a portion of the sheet, detecting an amount of the light transmitted through the portion of the sheet, comparing the amount of light detected to a range of light transmission values known to correspond to a predetermined range of electrical resistance values required for the portion, and selecting the portion of the sheet for use as a heating element if the amount of detected light lies within the range of light transmission values, and otherwise rejecting the portion of the sheet.

  • Publication number: 20200000151
Abstract: An assembly for a vapor provision device comprises includes a vapor generator for vaporizing source liquid, a liquid conduit for delivering source liquid from a reservoir to the vapor generator, and a liquid capture element in liquid transfer contact with at least a portion of the liquid conduit between the vapor generator and a part of the liquid conduit that receives liquid from the reservoir, and including an absorbent structure providing a lower capillary force than a capillary force of the liquid conduit.
