  • Patent number: 5282835
Abstract: An exercise machine for passive exercise of a patient. The machine has a patient support platform having first and second parts which are adapted to support the upper and lower parts of a patient's body. Mechanisms are provided for applying a cyclic movement to the first and second parts of the support platform. • Patent number: 5127034
Abstract: There is disclosed a support surface which is particularly suited for supporting a patient and permitting X-rays of the patient to be taken. The support surface comprises at least two substantially rigid support elements coupled together by a flexible joining element such that relative movement between the support elements can take place. The support elements and flexible joining elements are radio-lucent with at least an area through which X-rays are (in use of a support surface) to pass, being of such relative thicknesses and composition that said area is of substantially uniform radio-lucence.

  • Patent number: 4221009
Abstract: A bath or shower apparatus which has a platform and a flexible cover attached thereto. The cover extends beyond the periphery of the platform and is attached at its outer edge to a surround which extends about the platform. Means are provided whereby the platform can be raised and lowered with respect to the surround. When the platform is lowered the flexible cover forms a continuous wall between the surround and platform. The flexible cover forms a continuous guttering between the surround when the platform is in the raised position.

  • Patent number: 4130991
Abstract: An hydraulic pump comprising a plunger slidingly located within a housing. A first valve is adapted to allow fluid to be drawn from a reservoir into the housing during movement of the plunger in one direction, and a second valve is adapted to allow fluid to flow from the housing during the greater part of movement of the plunger in its other direction. A control apparatus is provided to control the second valve at or near the completion of the plunger's movement in the mentioned other direction to allow fluid to move back through the second valve and into the reservoir.
