The hair extension base is divided into multiple mounting sections, allowing for the layering of the interchangeable hair extensions. A plurality of fastening clips secures the hair extension base to a user's natural hair, wherein each of the plurality of fastening clips can be configured between an open position and a closed position; a securing cord may also be used to further secure the hair extension base to the user's head.
