  • Patent number: 4260181
Abstract: A pipe coupling useful in plumbing systems formed of unthreaded pipes for repairing damaged portions of said systems, particularly those portions occurring immediately adjacent emplaced couplings, such as an L or T coupling. A coupling in accordance with the invention is comprised of a pair of substantially semi-cylindrical pipe sections having longitudinal edges formed so as to mate with one another to hold the sections together. The sections are sized so a first end has an internal diameter substantially equal to the external diameter of the emplaced pipe so as to fit closely therearound, whereby an adhesive applied therebetween forms a water-tight seal. A second end of the sections is enlarged so as to fit around and engage and thereby be adapted to form a water-tight seal with the external diameter of the emplaced coupling.

  • Patent number: 4109944
Abstract: A coupling for unthreaded pipes of a sprinkler system, which permits the replacement of a small damaged pipe section without bending the pipes already emplaced in the ground. The coupling is comprised of a pair of semi-cylindrical pipe sections adapted to fit around and engage the emplaced pipes. The longitudinal edges of the two semi-cylindrical pipe sections are formed so as to mate with one another to hold the sections together as an applied adhesive forms a water-tight seal.

  • Patent number: 4103943
Abstract: A coupling for unthreaded pipes of a sprinkler system, which permits the replacement of a small damaged pipe section without bending the pipes already emplaced in the ground. The coupling is comprised of a pair of semi-cylindrical pipe sections adapted to fit around and engage the emplaced pipes. The longitudinal edges of the two semi-cylindrical pipe sections are formed so as to mate with one another to hold the sections together as an applied adhesive forms a water-tight seal. Two identical end collars slide along the emplaced pipes and grip the semi-cylindrical pipe sections, holding them in place during the bonding process.

  • Patent number: 4035002
Abstract: A coupling for unthreaded pipes of a sprinkler system, which permits the replacement of a small damaged pipe section without bending the pipes already emplaced in the ground. One coupling includes an end cap that can be installed on the end of a first pipe to be joined, and a sleeve which can slide over the second pipe and over the end cap for adhesive mounting thereto. A flexible wedge ring is sandwiched between the sleeve and cap.

  • Patent number: 3971574
Abstract: A coupling for unthreaded pipes of a sprinkler system, which permits the replacement of a small damaged pipe section without bending the pipes already emplaced in the ground. One coupling includes a short pipe section having an enlaged tubular portion fixed at one end thereof adapted to be fitted over and adhered to a first open end of the pipe in the ground. A slidable sleeve on a second end of the pipe section has an enlarged tubular portion adapted to be fitted over and adhered to a second open end of the pipe in the ground.
